ICE raids on Mississippi food processing plants result in 680 arrests
The real solution to the immigration crisis is workplace enforcement. Put a few CEOs in jail for knowingly hiring illegals and the problem would disappear overnight.

Re: ICE raids on Mississippi food processing plants result in 680 arrests
An ICE raid on any food processing plant would yield similar results I can assure you from personal experience, it is too profitable for these companies to employ the cheapest labor available when the only penalty is a fine that is a fraction of the money they pocket by breaking the law. CEO's of companies using these practices need to face real jail time or it will never change.

Federal law should require all employers to use e-verify with all new and old employees, and then impose severe fines and criminal penalties for companies and company executives who don't follow the law.
Just don't make anything up.

If any actual journalists remain - follow the list of these supposedly arrest and find out how many were released and where. The headline doesn't suffice. What is the rest of the story?
How many were released pending they show up at a future court date?
What were the employers charged with and were they arrested? If not, why?
Who was housing these 680 illegals?
If there were 680 arrested - where are the rest? Their families who are here? How many anchors have each already produced?

Pretty much every manual labor industry is now a Manuel labor intensive industry, since American youth don't have to work and rather get stoned and play videogames all day

If they use illegals you don't want to eat anything they produce anyway. So them going out of business is a good thing.

Re: ICE raids on Mississippi food processing plants result in 680 arrests
If they captured and deported 1000 illegals a month, given there are approximately 11,000,000 (million) here, it would take 11,000 months to deport them all.

That is 916 year, during which they will have bred and multiplied many times over.

We need to deport over one million a MONTH to really make a dent in the problem.

680 arrests is not even a joke. This is serious business and this kind of news is nothing less than a slap in the face.

The only way is to encourage self deportation, and shutting off the job flow is but one. One which would be a far greater encouragement to go back hone would be the elimination of ALL benefits.

This immigration thing is just a big game.

As Rush said, run the numbers. 680 is not even a start,

My friend, who is an immigration attorney and advocate, also believes that this will help prevent illegal immigration. His motto is that if they cannot be hired, they will not come.

It may be too little, too late, but any workplace enforcement is better than nothing. The most effective thing will be to slap serious criminal conspiracy (RICO) charges on the Americans who own and manage these plants. I hope that happens but I'm not holding my breath.
