I got two baby watermelon plants yesterday :)

I will keep you posted. They need 80 days I just read.. They are in the little pots I got them in and I have not planted them yet. I will have to prepare a place for them special.. :)

Yeah.. It is Mexican Yellow. I am fearful they will get eaten by what ever is eating the pumpkin but we will see? :(

naw it is a gross worm or slug however I noticed this morning I have some nice pumpkin shoots come up lets see what happens? I was thinking sprinkle some cayenne around them? I do not want my watermelons to go the way of the worm. :(

4. Deter Pests Naturally
Instead of using plain table salt to dehydrate and kill snails and slugs, banish the pests with Epsom salts and you’ll give roots and blooms a boost in the process. For general pest control, mix one cup of Epsom salts with five gallons of water and spray onto foliage. For slug and snail control, sprinkle dry Epsom salts in the garden around the base of plants.

I will do that after I water them and let is dry some. I am hopeful.. I will also just do that for the watermelons when I plant them.

Beautiful day in the Rockies!

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic today. These songs remind me of the spring time of 1970, before I started first grade in the fall. I would grab the record player off the top shelf in my sisters' bedroom and get the records out. I would listen to music for a couple of hours. Then I would put everything back as I found it. None of my older siblings ever knew I was an aficionado.
