100 low-yield nuke weapons would cause the ENTIRE Earth to experience nuclear autumn. The scientists used to say nuclear winter but that is a misnomer. What happens is SEVERE abbreviation of the seasons due to fallout. So say in Western Kentucky we get 3 really great growing seasons, but with nuclear winter the spring would be too cold for seed germination and fall would be too cold to fully develop cabbage plants. So you would have to really hustle and use cloches to protect your harvest and put most of your eggs in one basket in summer. And then if something like drought screwed up summer, we would have a terrible harvest.

Now someone in Montana would be completely screwed as the growing season would be so abbreviated they may not get a decent harvest whatsoever for five years.

India and Pakistan and even China now has messing around over there, all three could end up starting a low yield nuclear exchange. How insane.

Say in the USA, well the land west of the Mississippi River is often arid and so prone to drought. And the Northern land has a much shorter growing season. So a heavy burden on agriculture east of the Mississippi River and especially from Kentucky down to the Gulf Coast and Florida would be the ones most likely to survive as these have decent growing seasons.
