[link to chicago.cbslocal.com (secure)] Meanwhile 81 shot in Chicago in last week with 11 killed and the press is silent. The guy is most likely a vet that was just fed up with the care. I know how that goes. Perhaps he was looking for a suicide by cop. Surprised they even keep statistics and know that 1700 people have been shot in Chicago this year. In reality it is probably double that number since if it just a flesh wound, or the bullet passed totally through and there is little bleeding they would just use a local Doc, who does NOT report certain things to the Health Dept in consideration of CASH payments ... after all MOST of the shooting victims probably have a Warrant for their arrest out and do NOT want to go to some hospital and be arrested. Now if there is a SINGLE shooting in the downtown Chicago LOOP and someone isn't even hit ... Well that qualifies for FRONT PAGE treatment and "News at 11" time!! Take the "official" Chicago "shootings" number and DOUBLE IT. THEN you will probably have the REAL number of the shootings occurring in Chicago
