Ever try talking to someone who is all mouth and no ears? Impossible. We just let them keep digging themselves in deeper. We know who the real racists are, and they aren't Trump supporters. Anonymous Coward User ID: 11812463 United States 08/13/2019 04:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Racism is being amplified, and I've personally noticed it since they turned Trayvon vs Zimmerman from a story that should have never left local news into a nationwide race baiting. Since then it's only been amplified. Most MSM trashes white people, trashes men, any sort of masculinity. It's reminiscent of the whole "fear the brown people!" after 9/11. And before that, I was either too young (or not born) to see the ever-shifting scapegoat, the "boogieman" demographic. In the end, it seems activism shifts from blaming ORGANIZATIONS and INDIVIDUALS to blaming DEMOGRAPHICS. Weaponized identity politics is the most effective, cultural gas-lighting brainwashing operation I've seen in my lifetime. White vs black vs yellow, woman vs man vs other, straight vs gay, blah blah blah. And then you get people turning politics into their religion, worshiping themselves as Gods of moral superiority. And then another thread in the shit-tapestry of society...the counter-culture devolving into internet meme culture. A bunch of fashionable autists acting like SpongeBob Squarepants on a period, petulant, narcissistic brats that revel in their intentional incompetence, smug irony, and incapability of ever breaking character. |
wait....what? User ID: 77563733 United States 08/13/2019 04:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It’s now commonplace for President Trump’s critics to accuse him of blatant racism and even of being a white supremacist, as Elizabeth Warren and Beto O’Rourke recently did. But in his public persona, Trump is not performing as a Klan grand wizard. Instead, he speaks in thinly coded terms to his base. Relatively speaking, this is good news. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69642571 ..... How can Trump’s supporters deny the racism so evident to Democratic voters? For one thing, Trump is practicing dog-whistle politics — using rhetoric that operates in code. Terms such as “shithole countries” or “go back” are silent about race, but they provoke sharp racial reactions. Using code has the benefit of preserving plausible deniability. It allows Trump to stir up strong racial emotions while denying that he’s doing any such thing. When confronted with the racism of his “go back” comments aimed at four congresswomen of color, Trump responded, “Those Tweets were NOT Racist. I don’t have a Racist bone in my body!” It’s also important to understand how the code works for the audience. As a former Republican governor of Virginia once explained: “The tactic was simple: Lace your speeches with coded appeals to racists in Southern states. ... The intended target of the message — the racist voter — understood completely, while leaving the politician ‘plausible deniability’ with non-racist voters.” Is this what’s happening now? Not unless 90% of Trump supporters are not only racists but committed liars to boot. More likely, these coded messages work by strongly resonating with voters who do not see themselves as racist but are jolted to action by warnings of racial threat. The success of this sort of dog-whistle politics depends on hiding the racist nature of the messages from the intended audience itself. Rather than seeking to speak to self-conscious racists, the coded words aim to reassure those riled up by racial appeals that they are not bigots. The point is to peddle group resentment. Its uglier forms — explicit white supremacy — would have little appeal to the broader audience. Instead, the dog-whistling politician uses words that appear to promote ideas of security, pride or patriotism. For these voters, the cloaked language is more comfortable; it hides the racial character of what the politician is actually selling. <50% [link to www.latimes.com (secure)] If you really beleave ANYTHING in the article you are beyond saving. You can't call someone racist all day everyday for every thing and still expect to be taken seriously. Have you heard of the boy who cried wolf? Those countries are shitholes compared to America and if you don't like it here you should go back and if you are an illegal you are breaking the law and you are a criminal and should go back. You need to stop with all this or it'll just give you a brain hemorrhage. You need mental help as well. |

What they've been trying to do is get "brown people" and "people of color" accepted in popular opinion as it's own "race" and then fold into that anyone who is Hispanic, Indian, Middle eastern, native American, whatever in order to bolster numbers. It doesn't seem to matter to them that these ethnicities have people of varying races. It's all "brown" against all "white". |
