Rely on Jehovah When Under Stress “I am . . . under great stress.”—1 SAM. 1:1 PREVIEW *
1. Why must we listen to Jesus’ warning?
IN HIS prophecy about the last days, Jesus said: “Pay attention to yourselves that your hearts never become weighed down with . . . anxieties of life [or “anxieties over livelihood; worries of daily life,” nwtsty ftn.].” (Luke 21:34) We need to listen to that warning. Why? At present, we must deal with the same type of stressful problems that everyone faces.
Quoting: DGN That verse is referring to things in our lives which do not have Him as the focus. Obsession with career, or friends, etc., so anything that is outside of our life with God as the focus. While I get what you're saying, we are actually supposed to be watchful, so that day will not take us by surprise. So then how do we cope with the weightiness of the evil that is encompassing the world? By praying, earnestly.
