Re: Whats your favorite USA fish?
Bumble Bee's sardines can be purchased at your local American store such as, TOPS, or even BJs

the price at BJs is $7.99
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77801529

are they caught off of the west coast or in the pacific?
 Quoting: Jake

Bubmble Bee,
Bumble Bee sources much of its herring, the species of fish used in our sardine products, from the northeast coast of North America. Herring are caught in the Bay of Fundy and Gulf of Maine fishing grounds

Bay of Fundy,
The Bay of Fundy lies between Canada’s Nova Scotia and New Brunswick provinces, and touches the U.S. state of Maine.

Bumble Bee Foods, LLC, is a company that produces canned tuna, salmon, other seafoods, and chicken under the brand names "Bumble Bee," "Wild Selections," "Beach Cliff," "Brunswick," and "Snow's." The company is headquartered in San Diego, California, United States. The brand is marketed as Clover Leaf in Canada.

the canned fish "King Oscar": Although they claim they are oak-smoked, that flavor never comes across even in the plain water version.

BTW, that’s a picture on the can of the real King Oscar II who ruled Sweden and Norway from 1872 to 1905. Above his picture you will see the words, “By Special Royal Permission.”, the only Norwegian product granted that by the Royal Norwegian Court

catfishing Alabama style

the arrival of spring on the Alabama Gulf Coast is the Spanish mackerel

Best Alabama catfish bait? Heres a good picture [link to www.aa-fishing.com (secure)]

Jason Trahan has found shrimp soaked in Anise has been one of the most effective baits for catching catfish in Alabama. 90% of his catches are channel cats and about 10% are blue catfish. This is a blue catfish that weighed 23 pounds and measured 36.5 inches in length. It was caught out of Lake Neely Henr

McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sandwich, at 390 calories, seems like a fairly healthy offering.

What kind of fish does McDonald's use?

Alaska Pollock
There's a wasabi version of the sandwich in Asia, and in the U.S., select McDonald's carry an Old Bay Filet-O-Fish. 5. Believe it or not, the Filet-O-Fish is actually fish. McDonald's uses Marine Stewardship Council certified wild-caught Alaska Pollock.

The tale of how and why Russia ceded its control over Alaska to the U.S. 150 years ago is actually two tales and two intertwining histories.

One hundred and fifty years ago, on March 30, 1867, U.S. Secretary of State William H. Seward and Russian envoy Baron Edouard de Stoeckl signed the Treaty of Cession. With a stroke of a pen, Tsar Alexander II had ceded Alaska, his country’s last remaining foothold in North America, to the United States for US$7.2 million.

7.2 million for Alaska

The Economic Value of Alaska's Seafood Industry

Processors produced 2.7 billion pounds of Alaska seafood products in 2016, worth a first wholesale value of $4.2 billion. The processing sector employed an average of 24,500 workers in 2015/2016, including an estimated 7,200 Alaska residents

I go up to the Columbia once a year and buy Chinook, (King Salmon). Native caught.

Vacuum seal the fillets.

Had some two nights ago.

At least Scrape the regular sauce off or ask for the sandwich without it.

Then McDonald's Filet-O-Fish is reasonably healthy.

( All Alaskan Pollock is wild-caught in the northern Pacific Ocean.)
