Suspicious Observer says these backside pressure anomalies in the simulation could be due to bad data due to a cosmic ray.
Quoting: Isis One Indeed. Also this one is an older, less technically realistic model/simulation and definitely not *reality*. I remember years ago (2011, 2012?) when Bending Light had a number of very interesting threads centered around what was displaying in these models. I think there's something going on magnetically/plasmically (if that's a word), but the graphics from this model need to be taken with a shaker of salt :)
Here is the link to S0's 5 min video explaining in a little more detail. From the description box:
Thank you for observing suspiciously.
Key Points:
1) These models are not actual field-monitoring products - they are solar wind data, math, and visualization by a computer. Nothing is capable of monitoring the entire field.
2) The ACE satellite has no backside detector, but there IS a well-known -999 value glitch that makes it seem like we took a nova from behind.
3) If some of the things shown there were real, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
4) These models (and any other models, youtube videos, articles, etc.) are useless without checking the facts yourself. In this case, that is SUPER easy... SpaceWeatherNews.com
