Put in for a bigger dick..

You know damn good and well that the first "organ" to be grown will be giant dicks. The second will be giant tits followed by big asses.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76888560

FFS, did you read the article?

They're not editing human DNA, they're growing organs inside of animals in order to transplant it to sick patients awaiting transplants.

If you seriously think growing and transplanting giant dicks is the top of human priorities before live-saving organ transplants then something's wrong with you.

Unless you're obsessing about giant dicks 24/7 in which case your interest is understandable.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77944999

you obviously never watched idiocracy

it is a documentary about the future

giant dicks are coming
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77305671

Believe me when I tell you that even more hated than the Viagra deliver van would be enlarged designer dicks the ladies would have to suffer.
Really, they just want it over with in a pleasant and mutually agreeable way, without injury

On planet Earth humans abuse animals plants insects and their fellow humans ::::: these individuals aremorbid and they are rapists too and have a Criminal spirit ..... not all humans have a sane a descent intellect ...... if they did you wouldn't have global wars being fought each year year after year ..... running in some cases for over 50 years or more
:::::::::::::::::::::::::

Look at Syria there are cities where the population is eating grass so their stomachs don't have the Hydrochloric acid digest their own stomach ..... and their is no food available to the public

No NATO forces have sent food to them from Europe ..... nor has the United Nations IMF World Bank ...
not has the US sent aid either or 270 other countries .......

These people are eating grass :::: they've been reduced to eating grass to stay alive -

Well that's because China is a big, gross, piece of shit.

No, we should work to prevent polluting the fuck out of our environment and bodies so we don't need new organs all the time.

I mean ffs, we've been alive for thousands or millions of years and I highly doubt we're at the pinnacle of health or longevity like the medical propaganda associations would have you believe.

China needs new organs because their environment is literally beyond fucked and they are seeing their citizen's bodies start showing the effects of being sponge-filters for the contamination.

The amount of plastic contamination ALONE in almost ALL of their waterways is enough to have them in trouble. Their government isn't dumb, they know their population is going to face catastrophic health problems in the near future.

Yet China being China, they don't give a fuck. They will survive under any means necessary (this is what makes them dangerous) including experimenting with shit like this just to keep their population numbers maintained.

All of that isn't unique to China, we have a lot of environmental contamination in the U.S. as well, but the scale in China is enormous. To be fair, one place we really fucked up here in the U.S. was with Hanford waste site in Washington State. The containers leaked and seeped all into the underground aquifers and and ground water in general.

Where I live, agricultural run-off has contaminated close to 100% of private wells in certain counties.

India is a pretty fucked up place though.

Their culture is, unfortunately, conducive in many ways to their poverty.

Re: China is looking to gene edit animals to grow organs for humans
Yeah ..... some states in the US only have two speciation machines for the entire state ..... and the machines are only sensitive sucking in air from only 3 cubic feet away per he ( 16 Litters/ min = 1 cubic meter/ he = 3 cubic ft / gr8 )

to find the heavy metals ( 38 different metallic elements ) in the PM2.5 ( Partical Matter )::::::
this refers to monitoring further than just the weight of the PM2.5 its simply insane

........ shocking ...... that this is the standard perpetuated by the Government and the Universities and the group of 66 thousand environmental engineers ..... I found about when as an engineer began to investigate the science and data sets .... and looking for the sensitivity range of the machines .....

they do the same for the water ..... they only do E.coli Turbidity Temp and Depth of Reading .... when you want to know the truth you need to FOIA the treatment facilities to know want toxic chemicals are in the rivers !

This is written into law at the Federal Level --- in the Code of Federal Regulations and the EPA standards are the lowest they can be and they are mainly only for Gravimetric --- weight on filter papers no bigger than the nail of your thumb !

16.7 L/min, per U.S. EPA guidelines

Sample air is aspirated from the atmosphere at 16.67 L /per min
through an inlet specifically designed to reject insects and at- mospheric precipitation and to be insensitive to wind speed and
direction.

That's how all these machines are designed ! ---- its insane -

Ask yourself why the EPA sets it at this standard ----- making it harder to extrapolate from where the PM2.5 air particle polution stream is coming from .... !

Good. Maybe they can stop illegally harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners and political prisoners.

Think about animal mutiliations, ones over the years that left no traces of blood and had to have laser precision to have been cut open. Now make the connections, if you dare or can,

Re: China is looking to gene edit animals to grow organs for humans
Recently, a Chinese startup named Qihan Biotech raised $20 million to develop replacement organs for humans. The smallish deal would hardly have rated a headline, except for the fact that the Hangzhou-based gene-editing company is aiming to grow those organs in pigs and other animals. If successful, such transplants could well transform medicine. And, thanks to a unique confluence of need, money, timing and culture, China is poised to lead the way in developing them.

The history of using animal tissues to replace damaged or diseased human tissues, known as xenotransplantation, dates back at least to 16th century Europe. Science-based efforts gathered momentum in the 19th century, but stalled out as practitioners and patients discovered how strongly the human body rejects foreign organs. Medicine achieved a breakthrough only in the mid-20th century with the advent of immuno-suppressing drugs.

Xenotransplantation has since become a recognized branch of medicine. Heart valves from pigs, for instance, are commonly used to replace faulty human ones.

However, transplanting a complete, functioning animal organ such as a heart presents far more formidable barriers, the most crucial being the need to suppress or fool the human body's immune response. China's scientists have become world leaders in editing the pig genome to do just that. The hope is to produce organs that can help people with a range of illnesses, from heart disease to blindness.
