Report Copyright Violation | Why do people say "education is free"? I'm a single father and just was looking at some courses i would like to do here in the UK. £945 fee for anything involving psychiatry or mental health. Criminology even more. I can't afford those fees.
"But if you're on benefits/welfare you get it free"
Nope. Because you have to get a student loan and they deduct it from whatever welfare (universal credit) you get. They don't just give you a student loan no questions asked. You have to declare it to the benefits thing and they deduct it from your money. The course fees are so much that i would barely get anything to live on after my rent is paid.
So why do you keep saying "go back to school education is free"? |

Old college textbooks can be had for free or nearly free.

Knowledge,education, just about everything else is free. However "Work, in physics, measure of energy transfer that occurs when an object is moved over a distance by an external force at least part of which is applied in the direction of the displacement" The law requires payment or tax on the "transfer of energy" part. |
