When people talk about the glass ceiling I completely agree and it belongs there for the majority of women. How can you run a successful business when your female manager can leave you at any moment to start a family? That issue doesn't exist for men. And once they have a family they are more or less the primary caretaker and need to work as little as possible and receive the most benefits as possible while taking no shit from anyone without losing control of their emotions or suing you for cracking a joke. It's not an ideal candidate for most higher up jobs and I think a lot of people are discovering this as they try and force a round peg in a square hole.

Women should feel comfortable being at home raising their children, working part time jobs while their husband works the long hours and runs up the career ladder. I guess for the business oriented women who have no family that is different... until their clock starts ticking and suddenly they need a family and then bam you just lost a good worker and have a liability in return

Just so you know, being a mother is a full time job, which, from the picture of the men you paint, the men who work for you do not share in child rearing duties. Is this why women are discriminated against, because men can't have babies?

I was a single mother and a good, hard worker. Many people, men and women, took advantage of that fact. I often had to take the shifts no one else wanted. I was expected to pick up the slack for those who could not handle the work. Take your generalizations and stick them where the sun don't shine.

Oh, I had one job where the guy who had light duty was suppose to come help me when he got done with his work. How often do you think that happened. By the way, he was the one who had to leave to pick up the sick child because his wife was an assistant plant manager and could not leave her job. She worked 12+ hour days. Of course that left me doing 2 people's job as was the norm. Not that you care.

Sometimes people's prejudices leave them unable to see the truth. In your case, I will give you the benefit of the doubt an assume you are in a male dominated field.

Men should be the primary bread winners and women should be primarily in the home taking care of their children. Wish we could go back to the mindset of the 50s. The universe has been out of kilter since the rise of radical feminism.

You are in the minority not the majority of women. From my experience women do not work as many hours as men on average and it shows in the paycheck being less.
