The danger of course is that if China feels that a Trump win in 2020 will lead to economic ruin and war, they might just play their trump card and crash the US economy. Sure, it would hurt them but it would hurt us just as much or worse. China is a united country, racially and culturally; they can survive a depression. But America is a balkanized country; a real depression would increase the division and discord.
