I have one problem with the "Ice Age" mantra.

The large mega-fauna, like the mammoths, that are found thawing out of the permafrost in northern Siberia.

Ok, here is the problem with that. If those large animals live in that area during the last "Ice Age", what on Earth are they doing with temperate grass in their mouths and stomach?

According to the mantra, these huge animals, in vast numbers and large herds, lived in Siberia when the climate was much much colder than today? Grazed on temperate grasses, which do not grow there today under current climatic conditions.

I'm not buying it. Ice age conditions of the Northern Hemisphere would be comparable to parts of Antarctica today. Only creatures that can bear that climate are a few coastal dwelling animals like seals and penguins.

Mammoths in the North of Siberia are hard forensic evidence. Not of an ice age, but of a much milder climate overall.

Just finished reading this very book. IMO it is a must read, folks. Thru' a bit o' luck and divine intervention, I bought a hard back copy in thrift store for $1 this spring.

It has been out of print since late '70s but Vogt made a PDF of it for sale, I think for about $12.

Best book I've read that marries hard science (from 70s) to ancient cultures myths/legends.

Highly recommend it for serious folks wanting to know about the cycles.

Genesis and Revelation are the best books in the Bible, BUT one needs to properly vet what's being said against modern science.

For instance AC said 'most of the water during the deluge came from below the Earth'. This is in reference to the 'fountains of the deep', deep being the optimal word, which relates astronomical not geological. There is no evidence for a global flood, but there is evidence that many places were totally swamped by huge tsunami's.

Sitchin had a best-seller in '76 and Von Daniken in '84, but like Vogt, they all lacked the advantage of scientific understandings of today - especially in astronomy.

Yep, looking at one of those books now covered in dust on one of my many bookcases. I have a couple of Sitchins books in my other room's bookcase. Amazing books to read. Like over-n-over again when certain bits-n-pieces of news breaks that makes me go back to them for reference.
