I bought a used laptop from a pawn shop. My old one was 12 years old, it was getting pretty slow and finally the ac jack broke.

I bought a 2 year old Toshiba for $200. I restored it to factory to remove any spyware installed by previous owner.
It has Windows 10 so I am considering trying to install windows 7 on it.

condoms and a bottle of scotch.
one of the was definitely a necessity.

The scotch?

a bottle of glenfarclas 15 cheers or maybe you weren't asking what scotch and rather which one was necessary...

hard to say. the condoms aren't really necessary, but 9 months from now, they would end up being a good buy, in retrospect.

Those machines make terrible coffee. Used one for years...and one day i grabbed a cup of real coffee from a diner...i was blown away, i had forgot what REAL coffee brew tasted like, night vs day. The issue with the keurig is that the hit water is quickly blasted through the coffee bean grounds and is waaay to acidic and doesnt have enough of the coffee bean OILS in the cup, so it tastes like coffee but its just hot water flavored coffee and they are usually loaded with bad ingredients and extra chemicals that they obviously dont tell you about and its waaaay more expensive in the long run.

I agree. There is an ongoing WAR around here
over this.
A Keurig was given to her, and I told her to get
rid of it because we drink WAY to much coffee
to bankroll one of those turds.
Plus I tried Keurig coffee and didn't like it any
better than Herr Coffee.

I WANT PERCOLATED COFFEE, like I remember from
my youth. The smell of freshly ground percolated
coffee would fill the house, but
"THAT'S TOO MUCH WORK" (says she)

I drink a pot or more of coffee a day,
so like they say about beer,
I don't buy coffee, I rent it.

Couple weeks ago bought a little pipe for weed.

Instead of glass or metal it's made from hi temp silicone and the bowl is pyrex and pops out easily for cleaning. Hits so so good.

Cost like 6 bucks.

A new ultra light back packing tent. Got rid of a 3.5 pound one for a z pack duplex at 1.5 pounds. Made in USA. 2 pounds lighter doesn't seem like much but along the Appalachian trail for weeks at a time it is a Huge difference.

A new convertible top for my '99 Miata. It had holes the size of my fist & you could poke a hole through it with your finger. Guess I got my money's worth. $1100 installed. About what the car's worth! I plan to be buried in it so a good top is essential...

It’s the most I’ve ever paid for tires. I usually get Michelin but this time I got something different.

Everything.

Food is the big thing.

Vitamins.

Oster Coffee Maker because every single coffee maker is sadistic and makes the opening to pour the water so small you spill it over the counters and floor and makes the coffee canister spout crude so it doesn't pour neatly, for anyone with arthritis.

This expensive machine my son bought is being put in storage as soon as the Oster I order today arrives, as the backup.

Oster is the very best machine for arthritic hands to pour without making a mess.

And "need" needs to be defined as well.

We're space age with suppressed tech and everyone should have beamships in their backyards with space colonies.

No banks, no money needed.

Everything here is slavery/exploitation by a corrupt evil global group who think they tighten the belt on your scarsity and poverty.

We are modern, not cavemen and everyone has far more complex needs than campfires, caves and clubs or some elites idea of how to force scarcity on you.

not food.

not gas

we're talking stuff that might be made in china or elsewhere.

do you really need that stuff?

and what is it ?

stereos.?

2,4 dimethyl benzene?

a lampshade that has a monkey on at in walmart that has LED lights?

what does china make that we can't do?

serious question
 Quoting: Grove Street

Not sure if any of this is from China, but what I can't buy used, I buy cheap or on sale, only.

A paring knife, possibly Chinese, via Amazon, for $3.78
Pruning shears
Honda Lawn Mower...obviously not Chinese
A lamp at goodwill
Hardly-used sneakers on eBay (really cool yellow and black hightop converse knock-offs)...which I really needed. Possibly Chinese

I'm currently looking on eBay again for rain boots, because mine are almost completely patched with duct tape, and only good for yard work now. I'll be replacing black rubber ones that are pretty punk, which is something eBay is good for. If I have to do the work myself, I rather have fun while doing it. I'd go Chinese if I have to, but mine were made here, I believe.

Most of my comments are designed to make people think deeply. Others are simply me trying to have some of fun when I need not be serious.
