Yes
If I need a sweetener, I use coconut nectar. It has a much lower glycemic index than cane or beet sugars.

It is like drinking water, tastes "ehh", until after awhile the taste begins to be refreshing.

As far as OP, more often then not, I eat meals I cooked myself. Aside for sometimes mashed potatoes, I do not add suger, so...

y'all ever had ketchup without sweetener, taste like vomit.

I battled with sugar for years.
Diabetes runs in my family.
Then i started eating natural
cooked foods. And vegetables and
fruits i canned or friends did.
The only sweetener i use is natural
maple sugar, frozen natural cider
or honey. And i use it sparingly
as it can be expensive.
Over the years i have learned to
enjoy the Natural Flavors of
various foods and juices. The
thing that amazes me the most
is as i gave up sugar i lost my
need/desire for caffeine and coffee.
And gave up alcohol years ago. The
thing that amazes me now is that
i am definitely not young. And yet
i look at people "much" younger
than myself and WOW they look, walk
and act (blush) much much older !!!

I do...if you drink water and cook for yourself, you can avoid all that crap...
