even if unmanned how do you correct for direction - rough air - weather at that speed

what I got seemed just 1000 metres off ground

could have been space chunk but no reports of impacts back then

it sounded like missile coming right at my town back then

it screams over my town in 2 seconds - town 2 miles wide

so approx. 3600mph is good guess

there's some apparent electromagnetic interference on audio

it seems conventional jet but way past whats advertised

aurora or whatever latest ?

all hypersonic types are missiles for impact ?

or do some slow down and come back to a base ?

I once flew Newark, NJ to Manchester, UK on a 777, 20 years ago, there was a huge tail wind, 100mph and we were traveling against the earth's rotation.

Got into Manchester in 5hrs something, an hour earlier than expected I think.

I was watching the speed keep going up wondering if a 777 could handle Mach 1!

So maybe tail wind and direction of travel matter.

I got video

aurora my guess

gets me that tiniest tiniest nudge of stick at that speed and you're in a hole in ground

so what can go so fast and how

it's all a blur surely to a pilot

I said 2 miles a second which may well be 7200mph sorry not 3600mph

hear it approach then gone and silence

play first second and half over and over and you can hear 'musical pulses' - that's the em effect moments ahead of it passing over then you hear the doppler shift as it reaches closest to me then moves away - like approaching sirens change pitch after they pass

listen carefully

this could be only aurora recording ever

or maybe newer than aurora

So it took 2 seconds to pass over 2 miles.

You heard it for how long before and after it passed?

It was so fast you wanted to grab the audio.

And you manage to grab a few seconds of it.

And spoil it by talking over.

Yeh, not buying it.

You got nothing...all I hear is a turbofan, the other anomalies who knows if even related. 13 seconds is not really enough to get much. All that being said....turbofan, that's it, not doing mach 1 (762 MPH at sea level, on a 59 degree day).

The theoretical limit for aluminum limited aircraft until titanium replaced leading edges and eventually the whole bird. The absolute velocity, ground traveled over, for a mach increases with altitude.
