Report Copyright Violation | Female Homeowner Shoots Home Invader; Averts Catastrophe FLINT, MI – A man is in critical condition after he was shot by a female homeowner during what Flint police are saying was an attempted break-in. Officers with the Flint Police Department responded Sunday, Aug. 25 to the 2300 block of Kellar Avenue, between Dayton Street and Welch Boulevard, for a report of shots fired. An initial investigation by Flint police revealed the man had fled the Kellar Avenue home where he’d attempted to break into a residence and was shot by the homeowner. The man was later found at a single-vehicle crash near Dayton Street and Brownell Boulevard, less than one mile from the home.
