Earth and Solar System Moving in Space, but Which Direction is True.. Around Milky Way Galaxy or to Somewhere?

^ This #2 video with a snipped comment off its youtube web-page: "This is a non-conventional view of our solar system that is different from the standard 'flat' diagrams. We travel, never return to the same spot again."

Initially I'd go for the 'around the Milky Way galaxy', but.. what if for hundreds or even millenniums we been.. just passing by the Milky Way galaxy? If the latter part or question is true, then what about the risk of colliding with other solar systems traveling through the space? I'd imagine stars (including the Sun) have some kind of fields that can deal with the colliding. I'm not sure though.

If traveling to somewhere is true, then the entirely of this Solar System is "Enterprise." Opportunities for everyone to survey and explore the outer space as we pass by. If not, then ok.

The solar system lies about 30,000 light-years from the galactic center, and about 20 light-years above the plane of the galaxy. Earth and its neighbors don't orbit within the plane of the galaxy but are instead tipped by about 63 degrees.

"It's almost like we're sailing through the galaxy sideways," Merav Opher, an astrophysicist at George Mason University in Virginia, told Space.com.

Our solar system is travelling through space.

Is 109P/Swift–Tuttle part of our solar system?

What kind of problem do you have?

NASA Solar System Exploration (2019)

"Our solar system orbits the center of the Milky Way Galaxy at about 515,000 mph (828,000 kph). We’re in one of the galaxy’s four spiral arms."

And:

"It takes our solar system about 230 million years to complete one orbit around the galactic center."

How Does Earth Move Through Space? Now We Know, On Every Scale (2017)
[link to www.forbes.com (secure)]

"From our vantage point, some 25,000 light years from the galactic center, the Sun speeds around in an ellipse, making a complete revolution once every 220–250 million years or so. It’s estimated that our Sun’s speed is around 200–220 km/s along this journey, which is quite a large number compared both Earth's rotation speed and its speed-of-revolution around the Sun, which are both inclined at an angle to the Sun's plane-of-motion around the galaxy."

I'd like to know how do NASA and / or other space agencies know that our solar system is travelling in the direction of around the Milky Way, not otherwise?

How-Method 1 of 2: Direct Observance of Milky Way Galaxy

I'd imagine observers could observe the Milky Way directly, and use it as basis of indication(s) as whether if our solar system is moving around or moving along with it or not.

a) If our solar system is moving around or moving along with the Milky Galaxy, we would see the same vantage point in relation to the centre of it - constantly.

How-Method 2 of 2: Observance of Other Galaxies and Stars Surrounding the Milky Way Galaxy

Charting other galaxies and stars surrounding the Milky Way Galaxy, could indicate whether if our solar system is moving in a predictable direction around the Milky Way galaxy or not.

a) If we see other charted galaxies and stars as written or recorded in past to present, then it is a predicted course of orbiting around the Milky Way.

b) Or if we constantly see more new galaxies and stars and not return to the same spot, then our solar system is moving to somewhere.

Well our solar system is NOT on the same elliptical plane as the rest of the Milky way galaxy, we are inclined suggesting we were captured.

Great trivia.

the year is 365.242181 days.
America adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1752, negating Sep 3-13th.
Our solar system is headed toward Vega, which is prominent soon after dark where I live. I will monitor this star for increases in brightness, LOL

All of us are taking part in the expansion of the universe, toward something called the Great Attractor at a speed of 2.1 million kilometers per hour.

I never knew until now just how fast the Sun is zipping through the galaxy compared to an earth year. We aren't just sitting there going in circles. we are in a churning vortex moving forward at a speed at least equivalent to an AU per year. That's huge.

The 3-D video (second one) made that apparent. See, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

structure and function of our universe

"We are currently working towards quantum computers that -- very simply speaking -- could effectively jump through time to perform their operations much more efficiently than devices operating in fixed sequence in time, as we know it in our 'normal' world."

Tim Cullen hints at the possibility that the Sun (and hence solar system) is just ‘passing through’ the Milky Way Galaxy which may not be our home galaxy after-all.

What do we know about the Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy.
