This looks like an oasis. Stupid people will forget about it and rebuild on the same spots and this probably happens every few years.

Even that flash flood couldn't wash the Arab stench off of them. Probably only bath they've had in years.

They do the same thing in Los Angeles, build right in a flood channel > so called "100 year flood" comes along > rebuild because the land is too valuable.

yes i know, its the same for many places around the world. Building next to a big seismic fault, to an active volcano, to a known flooding area, tornado corridor etc i just think it doesnt worth the stress everytime there is a warning for your area. Of course there is no "safe" place but at least you can avoid the most dangerous ones.
