It surrounds and interpenetrates the mind and body. Some can see it as the aura that surrounds the body. However the mind looks out into the soul's contents through what people call the third eye. Where people think, dream and day dream. As you sleep your spirit, which is the mind btw, gets sucked into its contents and participates in the dream. While awake people get sucked into their thoughts.

Go to sleep with your inner attention focused at the point of the third eye and you'll start to see those dreams manifest. An image here, or there in the darkness, until you're right in it, dreaming.
