SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The store owner in San Francisco's South of Market says he's about ready to close his business because of the constant unwanted visits from violent people.

"They come disoriented. They come high. The bathrooms are used for drugs," says Gill Desaulniers.

"I've found people in the bathroom here with needles in their legs."

On Friday, Gil was bitten in the arm by a violent homeless man whom he tried to subdue. He also sustained bite marks in June by a homeless woman.

"A girl came in, trying to get her to exit the store and she grabbed my arm and just bit me."

He added, "We're not even running our business anymore. We're basically dealing with street people."

“About every half hour to hour we have some kind of incident, another theft, violence, crazy people walking around, people who need mental health,” he told KRON. “There’s needles everywhere… people have threatened me with a needle.”

A January “point in time” count found the homeless population of San Francisco had grown by 17 percent over the 2018 count to more than 8,000 people, KQED reported.

San Francisco now spends about $300 million annually dealing with homelessness, KQED reported.

Mayor London Breed says more changes are on the way to address the problems, KGO reported.

“I would say to people who have had enough to just hold on,” Breed told the station. “We’re working toward resolving the issue. It will take some time but we ask for patience.”

You can't sell anything to a bum.
They think they're entitled to have it for free.

Gap already did that. Seriously, Gap was opened to provide dirt cheap clothes to hippies who were so dosed up that they could not afford housing, food or even clothes.
