I wonder why Benjamin Orr took a back seat to lead vocal duties in the 80s and let Ric Ocasek do most of the lead vocals.
Benjamin had a far better voice and face.
Quoting: Regal Beast Benjamin was way more 70's soft rock looking. He did get his feature in the "Drive" video though. The 80s and the advent of MTV meant every band had be equally visual and musically talented. Ric was a freaky looking dude and the label decided to capitalize on it (the keyboard player became more prominent in videos too.) You should check out how Whitesnake used to look before their 80's makeover. You gotta do what the label tells you or you'll get dropped and blackballed in the industry.
