Anonymous Coward User ID: 74021586 United Kingdom 09/19/2019 02:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Philippe Papin Quoting: Luisport @pppapin · 1h This is a 15 hour radar loop from KHGX. A mind boggling 30-40" of rain has fallen along the training rain bands south of TC #Imelda near #Beaumont, most in the last 15 hours. Life threatening flash #flooding continues, w/ the heaviest rates backbuilding into #Houston. #TXwx Just as was warned from the start of the thread with the euro model |
Maguyver Fix'r User ID: 69719679 United States 09/19/2019 02:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Raining here in mainland Galveston County. So far, this system has only dumped about 8 inches over the last couple of days, compared to the 60+ inches during Harvey. Fortunate so far. However, north into Houston and east is hammered. It's all flat farmland between Houston and Beaumont with no where for the rain to go. The radar accumulation totals are maxed out. They are getting a break at the moment after the continuous (very heavy) rainfall the last 24 hours. Galveston Island has been hit pretty hard, too. Y'all be safe ! Adversity is inevitable, misery is optional. Do or do not. There is no try. "The enemy will never attack where you are strongest...He will attack where you are weakest. Make sure this one hits that swamp for a good flush. Five lucky stars I hope another storm isn't coming. This would devastate South Texas and we Texans need that side of the State for quite alot of things. If this tropical depression is to hit North Texas later tonight and tomorrow like it is hitting South Texas then dang... we're going to wind up quickly devastated. Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker. A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us." -- St. Anthony The Great Social Credit Loser here. |

darkwolf007 User ID: 77447940 United States 09/19/2019 03:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Quoting: Oaken Paw I just clicked my link for the NOAA's national radar. It's blanked out for data. From what I understand it's supposed to be getting data from thousands of different radar sites nationwide. This may mean that the NOAA's national radar literally crashed, and what we're getting is simply a backup server's response page. That is to keep up the weather map regardless if there is live data to view or not. |

This would devastate South Texas and we Texans need that side of the State for quite alot of things. If this tropical depression is to hit North Texas later tonight and tomorrow like it is hitting South Texas then dang... we're going to wind up quickly devastated. From what I've been seeing in my town so far many trees are losing their leaves due to our ongoing drought. So if we're going to get light rain for many hours straight tomorrow then that would be the best thing for North Texas as a whole. If it's going to be moderate to tropical downpour one after another then that will devastate due to so much run off and the ground just not able to absorb alot in such a short amount of time. We got nailed this morning. 9 inches by the office 5.5 in by the house. Power went out at work, streets were flooded around the house. Ugh! Quoting: Big Daddy D Clouds opened here for about 30 mins. Sun came out, humidity through the roof, now clouds thickening again. Mr. LJS is trying to change his flight to Dallas. The Wash DC to Houston flight now delayed 2.5 hours -- I expect it to soon be fully canceled. That will be a scary mess. Our Galveston House is fine, but it is beachfront, so unless there is a nasty storm surge, it should fare okay. Likely not as fortunate for people on The Strand, Silk Stocking District or near UTMB.
