I see oil prices have dived by around US$5 a barrel overnight (now 8:50am here). Traders have reassessed the impact of the Saudi attack. Looks like I was right (as usual) about them overreacting.

With refineries down that means a glut of unprocessed crude so barrel price will be low but finished price at the pump will start to rise.

High oil prices would bring more investment in electric vehicles, not all that bad. Infrastructure to energy generation and storage, all needs investment and would ultimately lead to a decentralised scenario. Most affected would be countries depending heavily on exports.

Desperate for oil profits they are trying to rig higher prices for the same old thing - because they know oil is heading out over the next few decades and WW3 is not panning out for them either.

A glut of oil is no good unless you can refine it just as money is no good if there is no food to eat. Back to basic necessities. People will swallow stones and eat grass to keep their stomachs from rumbling.
