Jesus CLEARLY states in 3 of the Gospels that He doesn't return until AFTER the tribulation.

Revelation states the 2 witnesses are killed in Jerusalem. Jesus isn't going to die again and the Holy Spirit isn't going to "materialize" as a human. The bodies of the 2 witnesses lie for 3 days.

BOTH Daniel (OT) and John (NT) were given "witness" of both scripture and the End Times. John was the last Apostle to die, so chances are he had read at least some of the other Apostles writings. That makes even more sense considering his Gospel is quite different than the other 3.
