We were the gen who played and hung out in the streets and parks after school and in the holidays and had next to 0 parental supervision. We pretty much sorted out our own issues, and we were all well aware who the local weirdos were. being in the real world so much meant we were really tuned into what was going on around us. Growing up in the 70's and 80's was just the best. The music, the freedom. fantastic !

I was born in 62 and don't consider myself a boomer. In fact, I call those us born from 60 - 70 the AssEnders or Assenders depending on my mood. We didn't matter as there were not that many of us. We were the children of those that came of age in the 50's. When I look back it seems like we were always wading through the river of shit the boomers left behind. Everything was about the fucking boomers, then they became yuppies and they fucked up the world. Muther fuckers gave us Disco, fucking disco. that was all you heard about yet there were great rock bands but they didn't get attention either. The TV shows sucked and were all about dumbing the younger people down. Everything was given to them yet they sold out the younger generations for short term profit. In fact they sold out the world. Fuck them!

Agreed....I was a latch key kid....parents worked and I don't see them til 8pm....learned to take care of myself....being self reliant at that early age shaped the rest of my life.....I work well alone and figure things out....didn't need pats on the back or pack mentality....
