Re: Jesus is God
Fourth time already now?

The entire basis of your position is that God cannot come to us as a man.

Why do you say that The Creator of all the universe and everything in it and every man that has ever existed
cannot also come to as a man if He wants to do so?

Why do you say God can't?

Simple question.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Re: Jesus is God
The problem is in understanding / comprehension, especially in taking the "inspired words" of John, Paul etc...over what the "recorded words" that Jesus clearly states.

1. Jesus clearly said He was SENT numerous times. Living entities don't "send themselves", they either "go" or are "sent" by someone who has authority over them.

2. Jesus never ONCE declared Himself as "God Himself". Compare that to the Old Testament where the Father tells numerous folks, over the course of 4000 years, that "I am the Lord your God".

3. Jesus clearly talks of "the Father", "my Father" and "your Father" numerous times. The Father Himself does not talk like that.

4. Jesus clearly prays to the Father. God Himself prays to NO ONE. If your theory was truth, then the description of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, and in particular, the whole chapter John 17, should not even exist.

5. Jesus clearly stated that "only the Father is good".

People who claim that Jesus was only a man / prophet who was "enlightened" at His baptism by John, and then take those declarations and ignoring these statements....

A. Jesus states that "I and the Father are one".
B. Jesus states "before Abraham, I AM".
C. Jesus states "I am in the Father and the Father is in Me".
D. Jesus "allows" worship towards Himself, as His declaration in John 5:23 of "receiving honour LIKE the Father" states. The fact that He doesn't "ask for" NOR "demand" worship is what makes Him different / unique from the Father.
E. Jesus clearly states that He sits "at the Right Hand of the Father".

These declarations, along with His numerous miracles and teachings, show Jesus' deity and divinity.

At this point, kindly notice that ALL of the above are things that Jesus either said Himself or DID NOT say.

Adding all of it with the other supporting verses strewn throughout the rest of the Bible, it's then clear to understand just why the phrases "the Lamb OF God, "the Christ" and "the Son of God" are written by ALL the Apostles.

Finally, Jesus Himself, in John 3:16, clearly states that He is the "only-begotten SON of God".
I am a humble Servant of the one True Living God.

Re: Jesus is God

The phrase "Son of God" occurs 47 times in 46 verses in the New Testament in the KJV

 Quoting: TheLordsServant

Apparently, you do not understand that God is a family. Just like a man's father and son. We were made in God's image.

God the Father

God the Son

God the Spirit

Biblically, when a Jewish Son was sent on a mission, He carried the FULL authority of the Father who sent Him.

The Father and Son are ONE.

Re: Jesus is God
TLS knucklehead,

The entire basis of your position is that God cannot come to us as a man.

Why do you say that The Creator of all the universe and everything in it and every man that has ever existed
cannot also come to as a man if He wants to do so?

Why do you say God can't?

Simple question.

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"

So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
