Several people have suggested contacting your congress critter. This helped my family too (and I was the hero for having made the call, ha ha!). In my case, the patient was a government employee (no such agency); I don't know if that helped light a fire with his congressional office, but they jumped on it within an hour or so. The hospital higher-ups were suddenly all in the ER with my family when I arrived an hour later, talking about options that were not on the table the previous hour.

They asked my father if he had called the congressman, and he said no, but I bet she did (pointing at me with a smile as I walked in the room). I said, "I certainly did."

Once they got the ball rolling, the head triage nurse pulled me aside and said I saved his life, he was going to die without immediate attention.

I don't know if the politicians would be as helpful for a civilian citizen, but I would assume so. Definitely give it a try.

We're all with Dakota and you in thoughts and prayers. You're a former Marine; you WILL take the objective!

I haven't read the entire thread so forgive me. It's late and I'm sleepy.

I lost my sister last June from cancer. Everything you're saying is exactly what she went through to get disability after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She was relentless, God love her. They make it hard for a reason. It's almost like they want to see you die before you can collect. We had to start a Go Fund Me for her to get her thru year 1. Yes, it took an entire year to get a dime...and she was actively dying.

I'm so sorry to tell you this. Sadly, it's the state of our once rich and powerful county. Billions on war, piss on the rest of us. Be strong. Love one another. It's all you will cherish at the end of the day. The rest ...well, you can only do what you can.

Dear Father God, I know you hear us.

Please grant this mans son a blessing in the precious name

of your Son Jesus, that he may regain his health and receive

the gift of mortal life by receiving whatever he may need.

I just don't understand this! I have a friend who was diagnosed with Lupus and she was approved for SS disability, with Medicare, on the first try and it was fast. Does Dakota have a SS disability lawyer lined up?
