NO ; H-D IS MERELY MAKING BIKES WHERE THEY INTEND TO SELL THEM. They have a huge profitable asian market. for their 500&750 twins. They intended to build these Asian factories before 2016.

H-d Is its own worst enemy (I'm a lifelong motorcycle rider). Their manufacturing technology is no match for the Japanese(oreuropeans) in terms of quality. They are flashy, ,heavy, ill handling, Look at me!! image machines; whose marketing depends on their history and playing to "patriotism."and the badass biker image. The do not innovate.

Their base is aging. Their product is overly expensive; for no good reason. Lacks performance, H-d has some serious issues.

Harley did this all on its own. They can point finger at whomever they wish, but in the end the hurt themselves by getting foreign entity's building parts for them.

An American icon has ruined themselves. Probably a liberal CEO.

They were moving production to their growing selling markets under Obama but DID NOT begin this round of shuttering plants in the US and going into full 'leave the US' mode until Chump made it inevitable for them to make that decision. I was sitting in a restaurant several years ago and watched an aging biker couple in full regalia pull up in their matching Harleys. They took off their helmets and then hung around without coming in and then I saw why. Their kid who was wearing brightly block coloured leathers pulled up next to them on a Kawasaki and joined them.

Then they all came into the restaurant together. Harleys just don't appeal to the millennials.
