I can relate. Some lady moved into the upstairs apartment from me. She and her "roommate" worked different shifts. She did not tell the landlord they had an autistic kid and a companion dog for him. That kid threw a ball and the dog chased it back-and-forth for hours. The grown-ups must have worn concrete shoes. They did laundry in the middle of the night and made sure to slam the lid on the washer and the dryer door. I almost went insane. I finally complained to the landlord after a few nice "dear neighbor" letters failed. He had no idea about the kid or the dog. He made them move out from upstairs. I left before anyone else could move in.

Never rent a downstairs apartment.
