Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
I think Trump should pass a law that ALL elderly and those with sickness, especially cancer should have a food program which allows them fruits and vegetables at 75% off so they can switch to a healthier diet to improve their health. Many with cancer have used raw food diet to heal themselves and that should more accessible than gut rot foods!!!
 Quoting: Windy Hill Operator

Yeah because you should totally wait until you're dying of stage 4 cancer before you start eating your fruits and veggies.

acshually you should cut all sugar if you have cancer the caner uses the sugar like fuel.

Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
Good grief, the amount of eugenic propaganda in this thread is disturbing.

Listen up young people. I'm 48 but look to be in my late 30s. In 30 years I've only ever once been sick (a bout with the flu). I'm in ok shape, but getting in great shape (several years of office work made me lose my athletic edge). Everyone in my family (except myself) are/were in the medical profession. Here is our collective wisdom for healthy diet:

Vegetables: Humans did NOT evolve as carnivores. Our mandibles (i.e. jaw & teeth) are those of vegetable eating mammals. The staples of my diet are broccoli (the bread of life), & raw spinach salad (a little Caesar dressing for flavor, or whatever you prefer). That's the basis of my diet. No GMO. Only organic, pesticide-free, pure & natural.

I supplement with nuts, berries, & an occasional piece of fruit, and chicken here & there. I try to avoid beef, but I do allow myself the occasional tryst with unhealthy food. I also do a full regimen of health supplements, however I use a fraction of the recommended daily dosages. They over-recommend how much you should take across the board imo.

Water: 30 years I've drank only distilled water. I hear the eugenics psychopaths are claiming distilled water kills you. Bullshit. I'm living proof that's a lie. Stay hydrated always.

Oxygen: Learn to breath properly. Oxygenate the body. Get the book "Flood Your Body With Oxygen" by Ed McCabe. Worth it's weight in gold. Yoga & deep breathing are a big help.

Sleep: Avoid food & water 5 hours before bed time. Sleep in total darkness & total quiet if you can manage it. Solid sleep is a game changer. Melatonin supplement before bed is a must.

Digestion: Yep, gut bacteria is crucial to proper assimilation of nutrients. I eat a small amount daily of kimchi, sauerkraut, & yogurt. Also pro-biotic supplements, BUT, those are largely inert. Open a capsule, put into a jar with water & pickled carrots (or whatever), allow the probiotic bacteria to colonize, & have at it.

Final note: Go read books by Dr. Herbert M. Shelton or listen to his talks on youtube. He's from the early part of the 20th century, but he was the 1st major advocate for raw organic foods (& the best). Promotes fasting also.

well eating roundup ain't so healthy.

plus its $7.50 for 1 cauliflower here
 Quoting: Cartel™

Considering most of it is grown outside the us who knows what it’s poisoned with
But I wonder if the veg farmers who are in the US eat the food they grow
All local free range meats and organic veg probably
God knows they can afford to

i think your highly confused on how farming works. most veg is grown so simply it doenst use things like round up. that stuff is used on cornfields. maybe other grians.

Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
I knew a guy who never ate a vegetable in his life since childhood, or so he claimed. The guy was skinny as a stick, ate nothing but junk food for all I know and was a hell of a worker. Kinda off though..

To each their own. Everyone is different. We are a subject of our environment. America is bombarded with b.s. food ads that promote things that are not healthy, this enters the subconscious mind, and people wonder why they are unhealthy or fat 10 years later.

I eat a mixed/balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, meats and everything inbetween. I avoid sugars and as much processed food as possible. The key to being healthy is trying to eat right as best you can, exercise, and sleep. If you are key on all these aspects your mental health will also be benefited.
 Quoting: Archaic Smile

The key to health is low stress or at least being able to handle it. And lots of sleep.

Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
I'm starting to believe that vegetables are not good for us. I've been reading about the PKD diet, Paleolithic Ketogenic Diet. It was developed in Hungary by doctors and scientists . they have treated over 4000 patients, including some with brain cancer, diabetes, chron's , etc., with great success.

It's all meat and fat, you don't eat vegetables, sugars, processed foods. The difficult part is to get the necessary nutrition you need to eat lots of organ meats, liver brain, etc.

Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
Vegetables are full of anti-nutrients. Oxalates, phytic acids etc.

No thanks. You can have my vegetables.

I remember back when I thought vegetables were good for me. I made a green smoothie with mega amounts of spinach. It gave me a huge boil on my arm. I'd never had a boil before in my life.

That began my education on vegetables.

Also, most of the vegetables you eat go undigested, so you're just wasting your money. Have you ever visited the restroom looked down and seen vegetables? Of course you have. That's your money going down the toilet.

Have you ever visited the restroom, lookked down and seen meat or fish? No you haven't.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78065713

was just studying up on oxalates. can't say i'm sad to not feel like i have to eat spinach and kale all the time. eye opener for sure.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75308723

Cooking spinach neutralizes oxalates. Spinach needs a fat for the body to absorb the nutrients.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77553547

That is why dairy with oxalate foods is good. It also helps to make sure the oxalates don’t hurt our body. Cream of spinach is great and cheese over broccoli and cauliflower is awesome. Cheese and cream with veggies is protective.

Fruits should be your go to...and tptb knows this.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74833319

typically a piece of fruit has as much sugar as a pepsi. so your wrong there.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67904014

No. There is no raw fruit that has a higher sugar content than a can of Pepsi.

Fruits have lower levels of fructose. Only the liver processes fructose, so the white sugar diet is hard on the liver.

Vegetables are not over-rated. Nutritional education among the average American is almost nil.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77553547

In comparison to Fruits...vegetables are indeed over rated. If humans are 97% dna matches to primates, then our diet should mimic theirs. Where do veggies fall on that list? Always second to fruits...but wtf do I know!!?? And im not talking about regional diets, Im talking strictly genetics.

And for the dumb ass that thinks fruit sugar is as bad as Pepsi...omg you are a god damn lemming/moron. THINK about what you are saying!!

I think it is over eating that is killing people. Not necessarily what they eat. The oldest woman in Italy who died at 117 ate a few eggs a day(some raw because of doctors orders she was young)and some chicken with hardly any vegetables or fruits because she didn’t like them. Also ate cookies. She divorced her jerk husband when young and never remarried. She said she was a happy person.

They have extra tastebuds that others dont have. Ive heard broccoli esp was nasty and super bitter to them. That it tasted so horrible they spit it out

Maybe they are evolved if they can taste things we dont with their extra taste buds

Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
Also the reason why America is leader in heart disease. People don’t want to hear their eating habits are bad. It’s a sore subject.

Nah, probably because High Fructose Corn Syrup is in everything.

You know when they want to study the effects of some "medicine" on mice with heart disease they have to first give the mice heart disease.

How do they do that?

They feed them a diet high in HFCS. Look it up.

Then they lie about it and warn you not to eat red meat.

When was the last time you heard the News warn you about HFCS?

Re: Survey finds that 25% of Americans not only don't vegetables but have never eaten vegetables
Except for one seriously autistic man who was on the "beige diet" (bread and chicken), I have never met anyone who has managed to avoid vegetables their entire life.
I don't know what lies they told you, but I can promise they were lies.

There's a fine line between training, trauma, and torture.
