Why should we care about other families? Our first priority is to our girl(if she's nurturing, sexual, and faithful), and any kids we have. Other families are other. We'll help if we can, but only after our own is handled.

Shallow and hollow? Perhaps. I raised a family successfully, saved a couple from drowning, achieved various degrees and licenses, and help my friends. Perhaps I've done other worthy things, but I don't remember. It's always been hard to keep a relationship no matter how kind I am, and now I wonder if it was worth the effort.

I'd rather be a hermit than a stoner. I never succeeded in getting high on that stuff - just dopey. To each his own.

I'm still open to a good relationship, but I've yet to find a girl who thinks it's worth working on. If I find such a compatible one, I'll put the effort into it. Until then, I have work to do improving myself, creating value, and helping those I care for.
