Pkk has killed a lot of Iranian soldiers. Most were just doing their normal 2 year military service. Pkk are terrorists. Pejak are terrorists. Fuck them. US have supported the Kurds to destabilize Turkey and Iran and mostly Syria. Trump is doing the right thing for once. Fuck the deep state.

Turkey/Ottoman empire lost WW1, their country was supposed to be obliterated but hasn't for some reason

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

In the early 20th Century, many Kurds began to consider the creation of a homeland - generally referred to as "Kurdistan". After World War One and the defeat of the Ottoman Empire, the victorious Western allies made provision for a Kurdish state in the 1920 Treaty of Sevres.

Such hopes were dashed three years later, however, when the Treaty of Lausanne, which set the boundaries of modern Turkey, made no provision for a Kurdish state and left Kurds with minority status in their respective countries. Over the next 80 years, any move by Kurds to set up an independent state was brutally quashed.

now, look the coincedence, bc of historic unjustice we're seeing what we're seeing

kudos for the comment

Turkey suffered heavy losses during the First World War

While the extent of the Ottoman Empire was, by 1914, reduced (in the past it had included large parts of North Africa, South Eastern and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Arabian peninsula), its territory still spanned large parts of the Middle East and Arabia, which came to be heavily affected by the First World War.

The Ottoman army (just under three million conscripts of Turkish, Arab, Kurdish and other backgrounds) fought the British in Egypt, Palestine, Arabia, Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq) and Persia (today’s Iran). Of all these encounters, the defeat against Ottoman forces at Gallipoli in particular has made a lasting impression on Britain, as well as Australia and New Zealand due to the heavy losses they incurred. It is also remembered as one of the most significant battles of the conflict in Turkey.

Overall, the total number of combatant casualties in the Ottoman forces amounts to just under half of all those mobilised to fight. Of these, more than 800,000 were killed. However, four out of every five Ottoman citizens who died were non-combatants. Many succumbed to famine and disease, but others died as a result of population transfers and massacres, including at least one million Ottoman Armenians, whose deaths are still subject to significant debate in Turkey and internationally today.

'After' the First World War, the Ottoman Empire was broken up

When the war ended for some countries in 1918-19, it did not for Turkey: the First World War led straight into the Turkish War of Independence (1919-1923). This, together with the secret wartime agreements between the British and the French to divide up the Ottoman territory amongst themselves, sealed the fall of this formerly formidable empire, and led to the creation of the Turkish republic – reduced primarily to the former empire’s Anatolian heartland – under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Turkish collective memory of this period is coloured by these events. It lost its status amongst the great empires and, with it to some extent, its role in Europe. And it felt betrayed by the British who had, during the war, formed secret alliances with Ottoman Arabs to stir up revolts against their Turkish imperial rulers and entered into the secret Sykes-Picot Agreement in 1916 with the French, to take control of much of the empire’s former territory.

Perceptions of the First World War and the UK in Turkey today

It is therefore no surprise that British individuals and organisations operating in Turkey, such as the British Council, sometimes encounter a degree of mistrust or resentment. In the British Council’s seven-country survey on knowledge and perceptions of the First World War , the figure of Turkish respondents stating that Britain’s role in the First World War influenced their opinion of the UK in a negative way was high compared to other countries (34 per cent compared to, for instance, six per cent in France).

So tell me exactly why Turkey is bombing Syria?
The real reason - not some fake propaganda reason that the media is pushing.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72530568

The Kurds are an ethic minority with their own culture and language group that is distinctly non-Arabic and non-Persian/Farsi that have historically inhabited the mountainous borderlands between Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. They are not true nomads like Bedouins...but they have been living in a semi-nomadic/refugee state pretty much since the fall of the Ottoman Empire from having their culturally different neighbors fuck with incessantly in the power vacuum.

Remember when Sadaam “gassed his own people”? These were the civilians he gassed.

In 1977 the Kurds in Turkey embarked on a civil rights movement seeking fair treatment under the law, and end to economic discrimination/oppression and a recognition of cultural identity that is neither Turkish, Arab, or Persian...and failing that, they wanted a chunk of mud they could call their own instead of equal protection under the law was too much to ask.

The Turks took a real exception to this and riots begat small skirmishes which in turn begat a semi-civil war and guerrilla campaign seeking ethnic cleansing for about the next 13 years until 1991...because we pressed Turkey to leave them the FUCK alone since they acted valiantly during the Gulf War 1.0 and saved us THOUSANDS of US Casualties by providing us with boots on the ground intel, and guerilla assistance in northern Iraq.

The Kurds then went on to do so for nearly 30 years now throughout the Gulf War 2.0 and then again fighting ISIS in Syria for us.

We have three decades of trust, and military training invested in the Kurds and they are every bit as good as our own Special Forces. They are our “wild card” should a true war ever break out again in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey, or even hypothetically with a re-established Soviet Union.

In exchange...we never had to give them billions in aid, bribe them, or agree to some shitty trade deal that fucks over US Companies, employees and consumers...all they’ve EVER asked from the United States is from time to time keep a tiny token force in our neck of the woods so their women and children are not carpet bombed, gassed, or worse and they could live their lives.

In this case, that token force was 50 lousy troops...hardly a game changer in defense spending as cocksucker claims it to be.

He just murdered 2 million civilians for Putin’s gain. On Putin’s Birthday.
Meanwhile, we still give $30 billion a year to the fucking Israeli’s who NEVER shed 1 drop of blood with us in any armed conflict, ever. Not 1 goddamn troop.

If that doesn’t make you suspicious of this fuck...then the country is lost. The United States will simply be too stupid to survive as we’ve known it.

Trump says Turkey's attack is 'a bad idea'

US President Donald Trump warned Turkey against attacking Syria, saying its air assault was "a bad idea" not backed by the United States, and called on Ankara to protect religious minorities.

"The United States does not endorse this attack and has made it clear to Turkey that this operation is a bad idea," Trump said in a statement released by the White House.

"Turkey has committed to protecting civilians, protecting religious minorities, including Christians, and ensuring no humanitarian crisis takes place - and we will hold them to this commitment."

You can keep your delusion private, and perpetuate primitive ignorance that promotes suffering, pestilence, and ignorance all you like. Keeping that mess from spreading is not what causes it.
