How does the system work there? Do you guys have stuff like wages or pensions? I've never been to your country before, so I'm genuinely interested how it all works.

Same as you....

Corporate world with all the perks.... pay loads in tax.

Self Employed...... can earn good money, pay less tax but no perks.

Low paid job, working in warehouse or supermarket.... low paid, no perks, lower tax but just shit

Bums, smoke weed, shop lift, live off working people.

UK: First you're taxed on what you earn (about a third of your pay).

Then you're taxed on almost everything you buy (usually 20% except food and childrens clothing).

Then you're taxed on whatever you've managed to save/accrue when you die (like your house).

Taxed at least THREE times on the same income.

You don't have to worry about healthcare here (unless you actually need it and are tortured by the NHS).

Seriosuly though, they will patch you up and send you on your way good enough. Take out private health insurance if you want more than that.
