Just as stupid as drinking it. Quoting: Miss Bunny Swan Was thinking that as long as you are eating and drinking foods with plenty of good minerals, a 30 minute soak in distilled/rain water might pull some toxins out effortlessly. |

Quoting: Miss Bunny Swan Just out of curiosity why is it bad to drink distilled water. I'm thinking of a survival situation where you use sunlight and plastic sheeting to rig up a crude distillery. I do know that you can add oxygen by pouring the water rapidly back and forth between two wide brimmed containers. Last Edited by Judethz on 10/21/2019 10:57 AM |

Have been surprised at the mostly 3.50 posters on this thread. More than the usual number of thread killer posters. Thinking maybe there is some merit to this form of detoxing with the # of detractors posting. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77998374 United States 10/21/2019 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been drinking distilled water for 30 years. In the last 3 decades, I've only been sick just once, a minor bout of the flu (the same flu that knocked everyone else on their ass). I eat healthy too which is a big factor, but no less important than the water. I use filtration systems for the water I bathe with but unfortunately it's not distilled. However, I do intend to install an inline distillation system & storage tanks for basic household needs. It bares mentioning that our skin is the largest organ of the human body, & it's porous nature causes people to absorb an average of 5 lbs. of water-weight during the typical hot shower (heat accelerates absorption). Also, anyone telling you minerals from water are necessary for human health are sorely misinformed. Yes, the body needs minerals, but those minerals can only be assimilated for use in the body when they're found in short & long-chain molecules from food we consume. If the minerals dissolved in water were useful in the body, you could suck on a rock & get your daily vitamins. It's no different, & no less preposterous. Don't believe the emerging propaganda against distilled water that's popping up over these last few years. Distilled water is simply chemically pure H2O. The sewage coming out of the tap in most American localities is dosed with 200+ different chemicals, none of which are good for you. US Naval vessels use distilled seawater for drinking & bathing, & have been for a century or close to it. I don't know if they put admixture into the water tbh, but I know during WWII they didn't. |
Half Past Midnight User ID: 73740423 United States 10/21/2019 11:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No more than getting soaked in the rain, which is distilled water. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70095735 This is the truth. Distilled water has the same PH as rain water. There are so many lies about distilled water being too alkaline & not acidic enough (or vice versa) made by people trying to sell you something (else). |

Really interesting. Thanks. Didn't realize how much water the body would absorb in a shower/bath. More reason to avoid the city fluoride/chlorine laden water for showers/baths. Was thinking the purity of distilled (rain) water would, by osmosis and tendency of toxins to move from a higher concentration to a lower concentration, help detox a person effortlessly and safely so long as decent foods were eaten. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77051080 United States 10/21/2019 12:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Couldn't find much online about it. Would worry a bit about imbalancing the body's chemistry but maybe far more good would be the result. Thoughts? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77954695 dunno but i know someone that only gives his pets distilled water to drink instead of faucet and they live 2-3x longer than anyone elses he has a 22 year old cat and it looks exactly the same as when it was 3 its really active to the point of being annoying |
