Couldn't find much online about it. Would worry a bit about imbalancing the body's chemistry but maybe far more good would be the result. Thoughts?

Yes.

Now go to the supermarket and buy up 40 gallons of distilled water for your tub. How do you plan on warming that water up?

No more than getting soaked in the rain, which is distilled water.

No. It will leach important minerals from your body. Just as stupid as drinking it.

Was thinking that as long as you are eating and drinking foods with plenty of good minerals, a 30 minute soak in distilled/rain water might pull some toxins out effortlessly.

well thats not at all how it works. if you take a bath, and rub soap on yore skin, that washes off dirt from outside. like dirt on yore skin gets washed off.

if you want to get toxins out of yore body, that is done by peeing and pooping. so drink water and eat fiber. that will make more and poop come out. removing toxins. very simple isnt it.

Are you trying to make yourself into a parasite buffet?

Distilled water is for extracting things, I wouldn't recommend bathing in it.

sweater Just out of curiosity why is it bad to drink distilled water. I'm thinking of a survival situation where you use sunlight and plastic sheeting to rig up a crude distillery.

I do know that you can add oxygen by pouring the water rapidly back and forth between two wide brimmed containers.

Wow --- Finally a sharp response. Thanks. Have been surprised at the mostly 3.50 posters on this thread. More than the usual number of thread killer posters. Thinking maybe there is some merit to this form of detoxing with the # of detractors posting.

Re: Would bathing/soaking in distilled water detoxify/hydrate beneficially?
I've been drinking distilled water for 30 years. In the last 3 decades, I've only been sick just once, a minor bout of the flu (the same flu that knocked everyone else on their ass). I eat healthy too which is a big factor, but no less important than the water. I use filtration systems for the water I bathe with but unfortunately it's not distilled. However, I do intend to install an inline distillation system & storage tanks for basic household needs.

It bares mentioning that our skin is the largest organ of the human body, & it's porous nature causes people to absorb an average of 5 lbs. of water-weight during the typical hot shower (heat accelerates absorption). Also, anyone telling you minerals from water are necessary for human health are sorely misinformed. Yes, the body needs minerals, but those minerals can only be assimilated for use in the body when they're found in short & long-chain molecules from food we consume. If the minerals dissolved in water were useful in the body, you could suck on a rock & get your daily vitamins. It's no different, & no less preposterous.

Don't believe the emerging propaganda against distilled water that's popping up over these last few years. Distilled water is simply chemically pure H2O. The sewage coming out of the tap in most American localities is dosed with 200+ different chemicals, none of which are good for you. US Naval vessels use distilled seawater for drinking & bathing, & have been for a century or close to it. I don't know if they put admixture into the water tbh, but I know during WWII they didn't.

This is the truth. Distilled water has the same PH as rain water. There are so many lies about distilled water being too alkaline & not acidic enough (or vice versa) made by people trying to sell you something (else).

Really interesting. Thanks. Didn't realize how much water the body would absorb in a shower/bath. More reason to avoid the city fluoride/chlorine laden water for showers/baths. Was thinking the purity of distilled (rain) water would, by osmosis and tendency of toxins to move from a higher concentration to a lower concentration, help detox a person effortlessly and safely so long as decent foods were eaten.
