I just don’t understand society anymore. Do you? Can’t we go back 30 or 40 years?

A time where you could go out fishing, without anyone bothering you or ask you where the heck you been. A time where pop concerts were not horribly youtubed, but enjoyed as a crowd with community singing and clapping and waving lighters and flags instead. A time where we could go play outside as a kid till 9 or 10 pm, without your parents texting every 15 minutes if you are okay. A time where cops were cops, respected for their authority and where your parents would kick your ass for pulling shit like kicking out a lamp post. A time when dad was dad, mom was mom and your aunt was not your uncle.

Anyway, you get the point. Our society has changed, and not for the better. This thread:

among others, triggered me into posting this. What the bloody fuck. I don’t give a flying flamengo if someone is black, white, purple, blue or yellow. I honestly don’t care if someone is gay, lesbian, wants to put a chicken where the sun never shines, wants to bang their rubber boat every night because they can’t afford an AI sex doll or has a fetish for Sesame Street characters. Be who you are, but stop forcing your socio-political crap upon me. Through media, corporate statements, protests or whatever. Stop oppressing me.

Dutch Education minister says: “Take a hard look at sexist toys.” Toy store staff should be trained in not asking: “Is it for a boy or a girl.” anymore. What the hell. Just imagine:

A big, bald, bearded guy with tattoos of his mom and mother in law on both arm enters the toy store with his son and the girl at the counter asks: “Good morning Sir. How can ..” The guy interrupts her and yells in a dark voice: “Sir? Sir?? Define my gender just by the looks of me? How dare you! My name is Jennifer and this here is my daughter Betty. And you better not ask that boy girl question either or we are outta here!” The confused girl (let’s at least assume she is a girl) replies: “My sincere apologies. How can I help everyone?”

The guy says: “It’s okay. I am just very sensitive when it comes to gender issues. I feel so oppressed at times.” He turns to his son and says: “Okay Betty, go pick a toy.” And the son returns a minute later with a train set. His dad is happy: “See! Without our adult sexist view a girl cán pick a boy’s toy!” And with a manly fist pump he pays for it and happily leaves the store.

I mean, can’t we just go back to children being children and parents being parents instead of their kids calling them John, Jennifer, Barbara or Hank, let alone call their dad Jennifer or their mom Hank? Raise them, teach them, love them. Be a parent! Gender neutral toys. My God, just look at Barbie and Ken. Do you see a pussy or a dick on them? Isn’t that gender neutral enough? Get a grip for god sakes. Stop oppressing me!
