People who believe that their kids are part of the 'matrix'

No, they say the matrix is an all encompassing virtual reality, which if people would take one long second to think about, includes anyone and anything apart from the ego-consciousness.
You can't say that YOUR family is real but the rest of society and nature is a simulation.
Some draw the line beyond ego-consciousness and include their own ego in the simulation. (contemplating ego-death)
That is not what Jung would affirm, but a person addicted to
virtual reality and having an identity crisis, would.
If souls are being recyled in a matrix, higher ups come in to get them out. Well, everyone on every level comes in to help actually, not just those who think they're higher ups.
And yet there is movement in and out.
There is a real matrix, from God/Source and Our consciousness, a playpen school to grow up in.
There is a hijacked dark side matrix.
But nothing prevents souls overcoming selfishness and violence and apathy towards others and rising up and out.
However, they're here for family and kids and willing come in for others.
Its all about others.
Its not where you are that counts, or what perceive is your reality.
Its your concern for others, thats what counts.
There is no dimension or any realm anywhere that has your family and soul family in it that is not home to a certain extent.
Its not a death cult, you don't murder to escape here.
My friend had a dream, she has lots of them actually including astral travels and abduction events.
However she kept dreaming that she had the ticket out of here, she was placed on the sky train out, and she dreamt on other occasions her red suburu was her craft and she could drive on water and her room mate who was fishing on the dock said, no way, she can't do that.
Then her dream where she had an angel seated beside her in her car and there was a huge obstacle on the road.
She kept taking runs at it trying to clear it thinking, she almost made it that time.
But she said, he looked unimpressed.
Then her grandson in the morning said to her, Grandma, you're not supposed to be trying to clear the obstacle.
You have to go through it.
Ie work through them, help others and solve problems for yourself and others while retaining peace, love and integrity.
