Trump hired him he couldnt follow orders, he sent him home.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76009415 Mattis resigned in protest of Trump's foreign military policy. He served in combat in the 1st Gulf War, in Afghanistan, and in Iraq. He rose to the rank of a 4 star General and 2010 became the Commander of CentCom overseeing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and was responsible for over seeing Syria, Iran, and Yemen, I am pretty sure he knows more about this region than Trump ever will. Doesn’t matter what he knows. His job is to follow the orders of his President.
