Dating at 40 is horrible...fuck boys everywhere

OP: (or Michelle? Think that was it) If the world were a sane place, I'd tell you to find a single father raising his kids... but, 90% of custody cases the woman gets the kids & the men get the bill (alimony, child support). Those guys don't exist.

I'm going to give you my perspective on the harsh reality. Once a guy reaches his 40s, if he's got his shit together, took care of himself, & is moderate looking to handsome, he'll have beautiful women in their 20s throwing themselves at him. Those are women with no kids. You're not going to find anything but fuckboys in what I'm guessing is the suitable age range you imagined. As men get older, their options increase. As women get older, theirs decrease.

I'm speaking from experience. I apparently look exactly like Jason Momoa but with short hair (which is all I hear since the guy got famous). Being older, I prefer to think he looks like me. I'm 48, but look to be in my 30s. Never married, no kids, but was engaged 3 times. Escaped all 3 times thankfully. I may never get married after watching friends be ruined by it. My options are unlimited. Beautiful women in their 20s & 30s throw themselves at me all the time. I have to beat them off me with a stick, & I'm trying to take a break from women. I don't send out any vibes & take deliberate precautions to avoid them. I even resorted to dressing down to not pique their interest, but I still get that female "stare" thing you all do (especially since freakin Aquaman). I NEVER expected this at my age, but it's just how things are.

My "not so handsome" friends, same exact thing. Women in their 20s throw themselves at them. So it's not even entirely about looks. It's all about age. And all sane men past age 18 through 99 do NOT want to play daddy to another dude's kids. Instant family: just add dad. Someone who would settle for that has a screw loose. Sorry to break it to you, but this is just the ugly truth.

My suggestion to you is look for a retiree pushing 60 who wants someone to share his life with. That might be your best bet. The dating thing doesn't work the way we're all brainwashed to believe it does at our age.

Another man will just see your children as your connection with another man that you will have for the rest of your life. No other man should be a "daddy" to another man's kids.

Stop looking for a man. Focus on your kids. IMO, no one should ever date or marry someone that is not the children's parent until the kids are grown and out of the house. Once you become a parent, those children should be priority, not finding another horse to ride.

Even back when I was 20 something, most of the women had the same attitude. They didnt really want a nice family with a decent honest man at the helm. Fortunately I found a rare one and we have been together for almost 20 years. At this point we are in it for the long haul, theres no going back and we wouldnt have it any other way.

OP, I recently asked a young woman I'd just met at an event how she met her husband. She said that she was a morally Conservative Christian and wanted the same. So she put an ad on OK Cupid with pictures and a bio stating her goals.

Yes she got 100's of responses as there are far, far more men than women on dating sites. Yes she had to totally ignore and even block 99.99% of the jerks that responded. Like many of the previous posters on this thread, the incels argued that she should be lucky to have any man and she was just too old-fashioned.

This morally strong woman wrote answers to just 3 men. She asked a LOT of questions about their goals and lifestyle.

But 1 man really stood out even though he lived several states away. Lots of emails, many phone calls, and a vacation trip to visit him (staying with his already married sister) then led to a very happy marriage.

It's all a numbers game, and the pickier you are (for good reason) the more you need to meet. Stay very optimistic but don't settle too quickly.

I doubt if it has to do with "attention." It has to do with tolerating his ex, her possible demands for more money (alimony/child support), and possibly her taking him to court for children's visits and child custody issues. Some women never stop. I have a relative who said that she preferred to marry a single guy, but would consider a divorced guy. Never a divorced guy with kids. Can you blame her?

Internet slang typically arises out of a need for a shortcut: one word to name a situation that might require several to describe it and it's been in use since the first chats went up online.
