Sorry folks, i was pre-occupied the last 24 hours by another prediction from my Aunt at USGS. She has now relocated the epicenter near Weed,Ca and will now be a 7.24 at around 10:37 tomorrow. Sorry for the delayed notice. Ive been dealing with tornadoe warnings here in greater Dallas area last 24 hours and had no time to confirm my Aunts prediction. She assures me now that her figures at USGS are correct, her brother and father there have confirmed.

Here is a link that reports the largest quake to hit
San Francisco in the "Great San Francisco Earth Quake 1906."
(They say it was a magnitude 7.9 pt.)

However, you have to consider that the wiki report is
using the earthquake magnitude measurement that was
REVISED in the 1980s following Dr. Richter's death when
it was downgraded.

In fact, the original "Richter Scale" was dumbed-down
a FULL 1 POINT (which is actually a shake value of 1,000
since each decimal point is an incremental from the previous
point.) This means that if wiki is reporting it as a
7.9 pt...by the ORIGINAL Richter Scale the quake was 8.9 pt
--or nearly a 9.0 point quake.

So, yeah...depending on which version of the scale you
are using there is the potential for a 9 point quake
(using the San Francisco quake of 1906 as your "standard.")
