When I was a kid a friend tried to cross a creek that was frozen over. He got to the middle and fell through the ice and freezing water up to his chest...I laughed so hard, because I told him it would break...we were about two miles from his home and even though we were on bikes he struggled to pedal from the freezing cold and I struggled to keep up because I was laughing so fucking hard!

NEVER dive into water you have no idea how deep it is - many a neck broke and people paralyzed from diving into shallow water and hitting bottom with head/face

no one on shore tries to help him? tie some jackets together and throw over to him - get a branch or anything to hand and pull in - catch his phone so it doesn’t break - good gosh - everyone thinks it’s a movie or they are filming laughing - stupid people
