How can someone be a traitor to a nation other than the one they are a citizen of? Assange has never even been to America. The only thing he has done is publish information given to him by a whistleblower. If someone endangered sensitive information, it's the people in positions of power in the US that failed to safeguard that information.

I fail to see how he has done anything that is illegal. This is what journalists do. They receive information from sources, publish that information after fact checking it and protect their sources.
