Only He can solve these problems, not us. Violence only begets more violence. It has a ricochet effect. And yes, this thread is despicable for those advocating violence. Self-defense and protecting yourself securely is one thing, but it is a whole other matter - a despicable matter - to even talk about resorting to violence against others, with displays of machine guns and the like. It's dangerous, unnecessary, and cowardly. Real men pray and take cover under the wings of the Almighty. They don't need to resort to violence to defend themselves. Most of us do not “live by the sword.” How many that take up the sword when forced to have made their fortune by it? I live by the Grace of God and my career, which I assure you does not involve “the sword.” The scripture I think you are looking for mentions “Taking up the sword and smiting one’s BROTHER.” Again, that’s another conversation. My ‘brother’ would not come to bring me harm, nor will I go forth looking to harm my ‘brother’. |

What I am saying is that if any American of either political stripe wants real change and less hateful rhetoric and divisiveness, then the answer is prayer, fasting, and charity. It is never violence. It's a pretty simple message, so let's not twist words or make things more complicated. Pray, be charitable towards others, fast, and repent asking for forgiveness and healing. Try to be humble. Stop fighting, getting angry, and advocating violence. We are all brothers and sisters and we need to rise above the evil forces that want to start a civil war. Otherwise, you are falling right into their trap - They want you to fight, hate each other, and sow divisiveness. People are more easily conquered when they are divided. |
