In the 70’s I worked with kids with disabilities. Then it was called crippled kids and included them all. I was a teen and had the job as entertainer in that school. I loved those kids. Some used boards to communicate and they were very bright. Just couldn’t talk or move. I learned compassion and patience then.
These kids may look abnormal but inside their brain they are people. Unique beautiful people.
Today they have technology to help them. In the past they were put in special schools. All lumped in together.. Many died young. Parents were embarrassed and some holidays many had no were to go. I was their friend and we put on plays and I read a lot of books to them. Such special children of God.
Love and compassion has got to make a comeback. That’s my Xmas wish.....
