Star Wars, the rise of Skywalker is going througha 70% reshoot before its opening in Dec 2019.
The new plot is now there is a Jake Skywalker that was a cousin of Anikan Skywalker, and Rey was his daughter. But there is one problem; Jake Skywalker is not a samurai style light sabor fighter. He is a Western style fencing light sabor master.

So Rey has to abandon all that she leanred from Luke and start to learn fencing from Jake's ghost.

While Kylo Ren became a president. But the empire hated him and tries to overthrow him. He threatens a civil war. So Ren might become a rising star in the rebellion.

Star Wars is ruined beyond repair. It is so convoluted with characters that make no sense that it is unwatchable.

Also, what is so bad about living under the "evil" Empire? Life looks EXACTLY the same on planets that are Empire or not Empire. LOL. Maybe try to show some hardships of being with the Empire or it is just nonsense.

The biggest difference is those white storm troopers are extremely annoying. The armour is too white and when sun light flashes through them they hurt your eyes. Living under rebels don't have that kind of problem.

I rented "The last Jedi" on Amazon. I fell asleep when I saw the CGI animated 2 dragons chasing through that casino. It looks so fake and I think any high school kid can fix that on a computer. So I fell asleep. Then I woke up at around the time bunch of Imperial walkers gather in front of Luke and started to kill Luke.

So I really don't know everything about Last Jedi.
