The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no one can rescue.

I totally agree with this. And they try to tie a bunch of bullshit like LGBT rights to an animal rights bill (or something similar) as the type of underhanded shit they pull in the process. Then they say "Republicans are against protecting these poor animals". When they don't care about animals. They just want to gut the Republic.
 Quoting: Prudent Nomad

Sad but true. Then the Republicans will pass whatever nonsense they can as a desperate show to the Democrats that they do care. Now everyone gets to suffer... and our animal companions will immeasurably suffer for it.

I'm all against animal abuse, but making it a felony is a slippery slope. As time goes by I could see them adding lesser forms of abuse all the way down to neglect to create more felons with the requisite loss of basic rights.
 Quoting: Copperhead

And as I previously mentioned, adding unrelated b.s. to the bill. Imagine having your kids, weapons or house taken for abusing an animal. Not condoning the abuse of animals at all but I see the same slippery slope you refer to. I can hear it now, "He didn't give his dog Dasani water, take away his kids". A bit extreme, but you get the point. Animals are abused all the time when they are castrated, chipped, ears and tail cut and declawed by the time they leave their mother.
 Quoting: Prudent Nomad

Yep! So many people are so for the sexual abuse and mutilation of any animal they can find nowadays. It's been normalized to the point where those of us who are actually against animal abuse are viewed as the mentally insane and/or worse by everyone else. As for chipping your pet(s) I've found out over the years that chipping inevitably gives your pet(s) where they were chipped cancer. That is because of the constant signal the RFID chip emits. It's just like holding a cellphone that is receiving a call to your skin non-stop for a long period of time.

Pitbulls are some of the most abused dogs out there too. So many pitbull owners absolutely love getting their dogs' ears clipped to the point of looking like perpetual devil horns. This severely hampers the dog's hearing abilities and always makes them look severely abused every time. Rottweilers are usually the one dog breed that gets their tails permanently snipped off into tiny snubs. Which is why whenever you see a Rottie with his or her full tail they look so alien. It's because severe to extreme animal abuse is not only so prevalent but the public absolutely loves physically and sexually abusing animals without restraint.

This is another reason why I've been saying for years now here on GLP after pedophilia is legalized bestiality will become legalized as well. Since it's already perfectly legal to permanently disable your pets via declawing for the cats and debarking the dogs and the aforementioned items at least it's not a far cry to see bestiality becoming legalized in America.

Also, Copperhead, sadly enough you're correct too. In a sensible and responsible society the physical and sexual abuses of our animal companions would be strictly a top level felony. Not giving your pet(s) name brand foods and/or drinks isn't animal abuse as far as I am concerned. If you're already giving them unconditional love and proper nutrition to the best of your abilities that should be enough.

In sane and responsible society the very mention of abortions would be reprehensible let alone having to have lengthy discussions to have abortions illegalized. I am not putting you down, Jake. Just saying.

I am also very much tired of hearing, "My choice, my body!" concerning abortions too. I would very much support the permanent sterilization of every girl and woman who has performed at least one medically unnecessary abortion at this point in time. Most definitely so for the girls and women who are unrepentant about their abortions, especially for the ones who become sexually aroused for their abortions.

Good. Anyone that is mentally deranged enough to do this type of monstrosity to an innocent animal should be behind bars forever.

lmao

I am not one to give animals more rights than humans. We're all equal in this area as far as I am concerned. I just find this to be a major sign of the Idiocracy we live in; when you just want enough justice to be served for our animal companions for their safety only for reasonable actions such as the ones I've suggested on this thread to be outright ignored while the OP's, Copperhead's, and I's mentions of various forms of animal abuse are lauded and demanded by the masses. Yep... one is utterly insane for trying to be reasonable in a time when unreasonableness has become a cornerstone of society.
