Lots of PG&E shills on here justifying these fires as 'normal'
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77920717

LOL...why the heck would any shill for PG&E? Their system is obviously a piece of crap and incredibly outdated and dangerous. But these threatening fires are a part of life in California. The state averages over 5,000,000 acres burned every single year. You build cities in this kind of environment some stuff is gonna get burned.

"Forests managed properly."

Are you aware that California has 33 million acres of forest(ed) lands? Also, 60-80 mph winds could cause a fire to jump over miles!

Liberal California is all about protecting the environment and lowering greenhouse gases and electric cars yet these fires have the most damaging affect on the global environment more then anything imaginable. So ironic

That's no good. If I-80 is closed during tomorrow's commute then a lot of people will not be going to work tomorrow. A lot meaning tens or maybe hundreds of thousands. Also, Crockett has a lot of rural valleys and hills with dense vegetation and a lot of deadwood. It's a part of Contra Costa County where you would never guess that huge urban areas are within just a few miles. In other words, there's a lot of fuel out there.

To all the stupid people who are not taking the fires serious in North and South California Shame on you you are endangering others lives !
I know first hand what I am talking about (have over 30 years in the emergency Response )
Born and raised in San Bernardino at the mouth of Waterman Canyon! I have watched loved ones die in front of my eyes in massive wild fires back in the 60s and 70s!
I fought fires in Summer to pay for my University?college expenses'.
I have lived in Oregon now for over 40 years and am still a active member of my Rural fire department and a fire fighter and medic first responder! ( 30 yrs. and counting)
Lets get real here on GLP, you stupid people who think it is “ALL” media hype.
I detest the modern corporate fake new media that lies to us all 24 hrs. a day .
This “IS NOT MEDIA HYPE FAKE NEWS”!

What is currently going on in California Fires is NOT NORMAL ,winds above 80 miles a hour and power turned to over 3 million and growing by the hour!
Major Freeways are shutting down and even 911 emergency call systems are unable to keep up due to massive call volume!
They are requesting help from Northern States, including where I live in Oregon!
Air Tankers can not fly in winds of this magnitude:
Over 38 counties are now in mandatory evacuation orders including whole cities of populations of over 200.000 people!

To those pathetic people posting here that this is all fake news you better not EVER show your ugly face in public Your Safety can NOT be assured
To all those ,the majority posting here on GLP you are honorable and are performing a valuable service
love to you

Mike Morales' YT shows the weather manipulation going back days before the fires started. Satellite evidence of major weather manipulation and the resulting effect on wind and precipitation. It is really horrifying.

Well, yeah...ok....AND exactly where did I say that wasn't true? It is actually a well known FACT and also a FACT California, for years, has mismanaged it's fire prone regions. What the heck does that have to do with PG& E and again, where the heck did I even hint at a defense of this monopoly of a power company that has been allowed by politicians to rape the people of California?

Propaganda? From me? you're nutZ

I just had to post, that you IDIOTS that keep saying this is 'normal', have no understanding of how fire works. What part of 'this is the worst weather event in de decades' xo hou not understand? Very high winds with very low humidity after a long hot summer

.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77416747

If it's not "normal" why does the State of California recognize September to April as one of it's fire seasons?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5363976

you are full of shit... I used to work in the woods as a commercial thinner in Oregon and the USFS would shut down our operations routinely if the humidity got below 70% SEVENTY PERCENT due to fire danger... In California the humidity levels hover in the 20-30 percent levels on a good day, and more often than not in single digits and the drying effects of 50 mph winds and unless you are as retarded as you seem you can figure out the rest.
