No good news for California over the next 48 hours. Current fires and any new fires will be almost impossible to control at the height of pending high wind/ super low RH event. Some scary scenarios come to mind with the latest SPC read.

I cannot take this, I really cannot, they just turned my power back on late last night and now it's going dark again today and these unnatural fierce winds are going to be at their worst where I am on a mountain top.

PG&E has not turned off the high voltage wires the really big ones which have been the culprits in all these fires primarily and I live near one to close for comfort. If it is them intentionally letting this happen, and hiring the random arsonists to stoke them like the dozen or so scattered odd fires in my area in the past 24 hours as some have suggested, I don't hold much hope.

I am traumatized, my neighbors and business owners and beyond for miles and miles and miles. We here in California are being screwed with, feels like war against the people.

For safety, PG&E began shutting off power to portions of Marin County 8AM Tues. Oct. 29 to reduce wildfire risk. This is earlier than estimated due to dynamic weather environment and impacts on our transmission system from the Kincade Fire

Tonight in Southern California, Santa Ana winds will kick in big-time. So says NWS:

'All eyes are on the major Santa Ana wind event that will start
late this evening. The trof axis will rotate through the state and
will bring another round of cold air advection to Srn CA as well
as turning the upper level flow to the east. At the same time a
cold dome of sfc high pressure will build into the inter mtn
region and will kick off a remarkable reversal of the easterly
pressure gradients. There KDAG grad will go from near zero all the
way to -10 MB From 5am today to 5am tomorrow. Mdls have been
consistent forecasting this gradient to come in somewhere between
-9.5 MB and -11 MB which will likely break the Late Oct/Early Nov
record of -10.1 MB.'

'Thus all three elements of a strong Santa Ana (Offshore flow,
Upper level support, Cold air advection) are in place.
Additionally most of these elements are also very strong and all
of this will add up to be high end dangerous event. If everything
comes together as forecast there will be 60 mph to 70 mph gusts
not only in the mtns but in some of the vlys as well. There could
well be 80 mph gusts in the mtns. These winds will result in a
significant threat of large fast-moving fires and wind damage
(Downed trees, power lines, and broken signs or overhangs). Power
outages are likely. Wind-driven wave damage is possible over
Catalina Island including Avalon Harbor. High Wind Watches and Red
Flag Warnings have been posted to cover this remarkable and
dangerous event.'

It's very dangerous to give out this type of info nowadays, any arsonist is just going to jump on the opportunity and set some fires in those precise locations, and probably at night, so that there are no air tankers to support the fires.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Do you know if the people around you vote conservative/Republican? That's the only way to stop this destruction of California (unless Trump orders martial law and takes it over). I hope you are not forced into leaving. I don't know how people can stand California at this point.

I think this whole disaster has revealed so many flaws in how California is run. Pretty obvious about the Democrats and their lack of forest management but I'm also wondering if this shows up the danger of ONE GIANT UTILITY being in control of so much. Perhaps the power grid should be broken up into a number of different competing companies so they can challenge each other, financially and technically.

There is lack of redundancy and backup in their system. If one thing fails, the entire thing seems to fail.

Individuals should also be encouraged to provide for their own energy as much as they can instead of being FORCED TO PUT IT BACK INTO THE GRID.

Communism, even on THIS level, just doesn't work.

These issues are really serious, especially for so many small businesses that are hanging from a thread week to week. I have lost two refrigerators full of at least hundreds of dollars of food and condiments, in spite of big ice chests and certain generated back up.

There is no ice to be had anywhere so most folks are left with no way to save. This is very hard on the elderly and poor families who live day to day in spite of the Bay area having wealth, there are million of those who struggle for food security.

For some restaurants in the few areas with power it has increased business, but for most it has created a standstill in retail, among others, and this will have a devastating trickle down result.

I imagine hundreds if not more will shut after all is said in done in the coming month. That and the mass exodus out of the state, like myself, and a glut of un sellable almost worthless real estate is about to hit the market with few buyers to be had.

This isn't just some power outage from a storm, we weather that all over the world all the time, this is different, contrived and directed and broad reaching perpetual devastation towards the populace by our elected officials, on behalf of the Corporation. Treasons shit they will never be held accountable for.

o one could fathom what they were doing to poor Venezuela, well they are doing it here, and worse, starting fires everywhere, the world is being manipulated by a chosen few into it's death throes, and California is the first State in this country to be sacrificed, get ready, I doubt it stops here...

This really is a learning lesson - I live in Florida so with these recent storms we are also facing a learning lesson - and that lesson is you have to emotionally prepare yourself for relocation and if even if this is not the time where you will do that you have to get inside your own ways of thinking and get to a place where you understand that even if YOU DON'T WANT TO, NEVER PLANNED TO, WILL BREAK YOUR OWN HEART DOING IT - you have to have another place in mind. And when you go - that place has to be prepared in ways you wouldn't have thought to before - like having a wood stove for back up - that kind of thing.

Our Earth is changing - whether man made - or space weather made - things are changing.

My prayers are with you folks facing fires like this seems just absolutely terrifying.

URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
1113 AM PDT Tue Oct 29 2019

...EXTREME RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM TUESDAY THROUGH
6 PM THURSDAY PDT FOR MUCH OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES
DUE TO STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS AND VERY LOW HUMIDITIES...

.A strong Santa Ana wind event is expected tonight through
Thursday, and could be one of the strongest of recent memory.
Damaging wind gusts between 50 and 70 mph are expected over most
of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, with isolated gusts to around
80 mph likely. Although the air is cold, humidities will lower to
the single digits nearly everywhere by Wednesday or Thursday, and
down to 1 or 2 percent in the driest windiest locations.
Overnight recoveries Wednesday night will be near zero. This all
adds up to an extreme fire weather threat. Use extreme caution
with any potential ignition sources, and residents in high fire
risk areas should be ready and set to evacuate if emergency
officials say so.

Re: UPDATE: MariaFire: 7,500 people in Santa Paula, Somis and Saticoy are under evacuations. The fire is now 8,730 acres!!!p37

We here in California are being screwed with, feels like war against the people.

how are the businesses handing a the losses from throwing food away? hw many are oooking to get out of business completely when this is over? what is the word from the local govern's due to the lost tax revenues?

it is quite alarming that 1 business,PG&E, can control and bankrupt so many areas.goes to show how much corporations can dictate this country. imagine if trucking company or shipping did this?

Rest assured: There WILL be buyers. Buying up the "worthless" land for pennies on the dollar.

I fear you are absolutely correct.

I think peeps are saying Agenda 2030 was about "forcing" all the people to move to large cities - rather than out in the rural areas - where they are more easily contained and controlled.
