Short, and some longer, Thoughts
This thread is for my thoughts on various subjects. It is my original writings so there are no copyright or link issues. Feel free to share it in full where you wish but it would be appreciated to place a link to the original piece here and credit "WhiteFly of GLP". Positive comments and constructive ideas are welcome. Thank you...and we begin with "Thank You".

Thank you

Thank you. What is it about thank you? Why is a Thank You so important and why is the lack of it so offensive? Someone does something for you or you do something for someone but then...nothing. Now one gets upset because something in return was expected for something given. Even if just some acknowledgment...but nothing. Then come the thoughts:"What a jerk! I'll never do anything for him again. What an ungrateful ass!" And with that a possible relationship becomes much harder or impossible. All because of 2 little words..."Thank you" or just "Thanks".

Why then is it so? Why then should it be said or expected? Shouldn't everything just be done out of selfless love without any thought of a return? Without thought of acknowledgment? Is it just a formality that must be observed for better relationships? Good manners for show because it's expected whether you want to or not? Something for an ego boost?

No, it is about more than that. It is about value. A "Thank You" shows value. It shows that the other is acknowledged for their effort. For their time. That it is valued. That they are valued. Nobody likes being made felt unwanted. Nobody likes being felt as if they are just something to be used and discarded when done with. Two little words...Thank You...shows that you acknowledge and value who the other person is. It shows that you see and respect their efforts. Everyone likes to be valued. To feel acknowledged.

A Thank You is an expression of Love. It shows that you love what the other person did and you love that they were willing to do it for you. A Thank you is a "Yes, it's good for me to know you. Yes, I appreciate your heart and who you are". A Thank You is medicine for the soul. No matter how bad your day was, if someone says sincerely "Thank You" you immediately feel uplifted and appreciated. "Now I can go on another day".

Selflessness does not mean having to accept disrespectfulness. Doing something for someone and not getting a thank you or just expecting one but not getting it and then moving on may seem selfless and forgiving but it is not. It hurts you. It diminishes your worth as a person. It disrespects your being and makes you feel less loved and valued. Nobody wants to be unloved and unvalued.

Thank you builds relationships. It strengthens relationships and keeps it together. Nobody likes a user. Users are losers. The one that can say a simple Thank You will always be the winner. The winner of respect, admiration and increased value. Love enough to say Thank You. It is the gift that will give back more than can be imagined. Also, what applies to Thank you applies to Please. Three little words that make life a lot more pleasant.

I Thank You for reading.

G’day WhiteFly,

Luv ya work.

You mention that ‘thank you’ builds relationships and keeps them together.

I agree but note that sometimes ‘thank you’ and ‘please’ can be perfunctory and seemingly an automatic response. That is less likely to happen in cases where real appreciation is signalled by accompanying a request or ‘thank you’ by adding the name or nickname, if known, of the person addressed. Mothers and sheilas generally, tend to do this, often accompanied by some term of endearment. Between blokes it is more likely to come with a general term like “mate” or “cobber” or even a derogatory term like “you old bastard”.

In any event “silence” isn’t golden in most human interactions.

Re: Short, and some longer, Thoughts
It's all Mental...a short essay thought

The Mental Space.

People live in a mental space. Everything around them, everything they can perceive consists of thought. Nothing exists without thought. Thought is the genesis of everything. The physical space is only a medium of expression for the thought. It is not actually where people live. You live in a mental landscape, not a physical one. People might think they live in the external, material world but all the world is is an expression of thoughts. Of their own and others. Whatever is seen before them is nothing more than thought expression. When someone looks out at something, they perceive with their physical senses what is recognized as the physical but behind the physical there is only thought. A house is only thought made manifest. A car is only thought made manifest.

Everything is an expression of mind. Without mind nothing can exist. Not the world, not the universe, not even each person as they see themself in the mirror everyday. All are the result of thought. Everything about anyone was born in thought. The body is the result of thought. The experiences in the physical are the result of thought. An entire life is the result of thought. The world around all is the result of their thoughts.

At the core of it all and despite appearances to the contrary every person lives in their own mental space to a greater or lesser degree. Every person lives in a world of their own making and the quality of that world is determined by the quality of the mind that created that world. Everyday people interact with each other and interact with the world. It is where they exist and express but not where they are truly living. Where they are truly living is in their mind, in their thoughts. That is where the real world exists. The outer world is just a manifestation and medium for the expression of the inner world, the mental world.

You are what you think and so is your world, and I say your world because you don't live in anyone else's world, in their mental landscape. The only place you can live is in your own mental landscape shaped by your own perceptions and understandings. There is the illusionary material world, the one before the senses, and the real world, the mental, inner mind world. You can exist in the material world but it's only in the mental world where you can actually have your true being.

Even though each create their own mental landscape it is not a closed and isolated system. The expressed thoughts of others which are allowed to enter the mental world can and do help to shape it. Something heard, seen, experienced or just felt can and does play a part in shaping the mental landscape. How much it shapes the mental world though is something that is solely and exclusively determined by the person self. Each are the gate keeper of the portals of their own mind and if  not vigilant and mentally lazy then all manner of errand thoughts can flood in through the open unguarded gate and wreak havoc on the mental landscape. If  action is not taken quick and the undesirable thought intruders promptly evicted from the mind then it will, over time, eventually settle in and ingrain itself as part of the mental world.  If this is allowed to happen then these mental intruders can be very difficult, if not impossible, to evict.

Cleaning up the mental landscape is something that can, depending on the thought intruder infestation level, take from months to years, even a whole lifetime, to accomplish. A vigilant, disciplined mind is a clean, strong, aware mind. A lazy, sleepy mind which allows all manner of uncontrolled, undisciplined thoughts to invade, run amuck and settle in, quickly becomes a garbage dump.

Everything originates in the mind and is the result of thought but where does mind and thought originate from? Mind is everywhere. It penetrates and permeates everything. Without mind nothing can exist and live. Without thought nothing can manifest. The source of all mind and thought is God, the Supreme Creator of All. Everything that exists has it's origin in the Mind of God and the thoughts of God which is manifested through whatever medium God chooses to manifest it.

Everything in Creation is filled with Mind and sustained by Mind but not everything is a medium for thought manifestation. Not everything can think. A rock has mind but it does not think. A tree or a flower or a shrub all have mind but they do not think. In order to think a thing has to have a dynamic connection point to mind which can receive and interpret the creations, the thoughts, coming from mind and that is what the brain is. It is a receiver and interpreter of the thought signals coming from the mind it is connected to.

All exists in the mental landscape of mind which is further shaped by the receipt and expression of thought. The level and quality of thought that can be received is determined by the level and quality of the receiving equipment, the brain. An ant's brain is not as developed as a human's brain and thus cannot receive the same level of thought as a human mind. The ant's mind only has a rudimentary connection to the greater mind of God which is filtered through the genetic mind of the living planet into the mind of the ant. The mental landscape of the ant is vastly more simple than the mental landscape of the human. It does not think or reason or have understanding of its world or itself. It only follows the program coded into its DNA which also serves as its connection and communication point with the all permeating and sustaining Mind of God as filtered to it through the genetic mind of the planet itself. All it knows what to do is what its inborn genetic program, its connection to the genetic mind program for "The Ant", tells it to do and it cannot deviate from that.

The human though, with its much more developed brain, is capable of receiving much more sophisticated input of mind and thought coupled with superior interpretation and manifestation abilities when compared to other animals. The quality of mind which a human exhibits though is not determined by the quality of brain alone but by the degree to which that brain is connected to the greater Mind and this connection is determined on the physical level by the quality and amount of DNA connection of the person. DNA serves as a connecting bridge between the level of physical existence and the non-physical level of Mind. The more connected DNA strands a person has, the better their connection to the Higher Mind is and the greater the quality of thoughts with which the person can shape its mental landscape and manifest a higher and more beneficial physical landscape for itself, others and the wider Creation it inhabits.

Higher DNA connection levels are no guarantee of higher, superior Mind receipt though since the human has the ability to reason, to choose and make free will decisions which is the main thing that sets it apart from the animals, some of which have higher reasoning abilities but which are not on the human level yet. The human is the only being with the ability to fully determine its own mental landscape and some can, and do, despite perhaps having higher DNA connections, choose to create a chaotic, dark mental landscape completely at odds with the Higher Mind of God to which they could have better access if they wanted to. In these ones the Higher Mind connection is generally then severed and they begin to descend to the mental levels of animals regardless of DNA connection levels. They begin operating from animalistic based genetic programming with an increasingly diminished ability to think and reason as a higher human would. Their mental landscape becomes animalistic and focused solely on physical existence and physical gratification with ever diminishing regard for all that is High and Holy. This can also occur in ones whom have had their minds forcibly invaded and manipulated against their wills and the wishes of the Higher Mind. In such cases the Higher Mind would also sever all connections in order to protect itself.

There are humans called "Robotoids" which are born with diminished thought and reasoning abilities as they have no higher mind connections because inferior DNA make them unsuitable for such connections. Many of these ones basically operate as two legged animals, taking input on DNA level from the  planetary genetic mind with no connection to or concept of Higher Mind and no real input from it which can elevate their thoughts and minds. These ones can easily be mentally manipulated and controlled since their minds have no real defense against thoughts of a harmful nature. Of all minds on Earth the Robotoid mind, in general, is the most susceptible to being turned into mental "garbage dumps" because they lack the natural defense a higher, reasoning mind provides.

In the mental realm is where all existence has its roots. It is the beginning and the end. Whatever is thought of consistently comes into existence in each person's mental, and eventually, physical world and whatever is forgotten disappears from the mental and, sometimes, physical existence. God is Spirit but creates by thought and as man is a manifestation of God's thought and gifted with the ability to think and reason he can manifest with thought too, just like God. High thoughts manifest high things. Low thoughts manifest low things. It is a great responsibility, great privilege and a great honor that is not to be taken lightly and if abused there is always a price of some kind to be payed. Man creates his own world and what that world will be is entirely in his hands and is his own sole responsibility. Heaven or Hell starts in the mind. A Divine mind is Heaven. A Dark mind is Hell.

The ultimate mental space is the Spirit space. Spirit is the purest expression of thought energy. It is not constrained by material limitation and exists completely in a mental space. Therefore, because Spirit is not material but pure thought and mind energy it does not need an intermediary between the material and the mental level. Thus, the spirit being has no brain as a material being has. It does not need one as it is a complete mental being directly in contact, part of and immersed without barriers in the One Mind that is all and everything. The One Mind that is God.

It's all the Mind and, when all is considered and said and done, it  comes down to only 2 levels of mind and One thought. Firstly, the Spirit Mind, the High Mind, the ultimate mental existance, the God Mind. Secondly, the animal mind , the ultimate material existence, the low mind. Between these levels are the One thought that will forever separate the two, the one thought at the heart of it all, the one thought that makes all the difference  : "I AM THAT IAMIAM GOD, I AM ALL, I AM ONE MIND, I AM ONE THOUGHT, I AM ONE SPIRIT, I AM ONE. ETERNALLY AND INFINITELY I AM THAT I AM"

Re: Short, and some longer, Thoughts
Democracy

Democracy is a war of ideologies designed to weaken and divide. It serves no other purpose than to steal power from those that can be convinced that the political party's ideology should be the individual's ideology. Democracy is designed to be inclusive but it fails as a governance system because it includes also the uneducated, the illiterate and anyone that does not have the mental capacity, education and even experience to be able to have a say in the administration of a country, region or even just a town.

Democracy is a vehicle through which people that should never be allowed near any leadership position and that should never have any power are given power by uninformed, misled and blatantly lied to masses who think they are informed but who also don't fully realise how misled they are even when pledges and promises are consistently reneged on and broken.

Democracy is one of the greatest power and control scams ever perpetrated on humanity which more often than not exclude the most worthy from leadership. Democracy is a deceptive system of ideology and opinion that removes self responsibility from the individual and transfers it to another group or individual that inevitably will abuse the given responsibility for own benefit. It's a system of disempowerment under the guise of empowerment.

Democracy is the lazy man's and the controlling, power seeking and very often unethical and immoral man's form of government. In the long run it never bodes well for any society as no society can continue to exist if constantly riven by the deep divisions inherent in democracy. Unity is impossible in a democratic system and so is real freedom when held captive by somebody else's ideology, the party's ideology.

A united world of sovereign beings cannot have democracy. It is a governmental system that should be abolished if there is ever the wish to create self responsible, self reliant, united and truly free beings. Unity is strength. Division is weakness. Democracy is weakness, not strength, and can never be otherwise.

If a truly fair and just system is to be designed then it should be meritocracy. Only in meritocracy can the best hope to attain what they really deserve while the unqualified and undeserving get pushed aside. Everyone gets what they deserve, which is also the Divine Way.

Respect

Respect is not a right. It is a gift given based on merit and trust. Those who harm and betray do not deserve respect because they do not give it. The only respect that should be inherent and automatic should be respect for life and spirit. All else is earned.

Real Respect is earned over time. It can't be bought, demanded or claimed. What people think they deserve is not always what they deserve and respect is one of those.

Respect is a thing of pure merit. In its inherent nature it is based on goodness as only goodness and achievements that stem from goodness is worthy of true respect.

Thanks Accidental Stoner and Callit. It pleases me if you are pleased.

Some more of my thoughts on respect. To me disrespect and no respect is not the same thing.

Disrespect is just rudeness. You show no respect regardless of anything.

No respect, on the other hand, doesn't necessarily mean rudeness. It just means you don't give what's not due yet. You can still be kind even if you have no respect for someone yet. This is just decency and consideration.

Respect also doesn't have to mean that you like something. For example, I can say: "I respect you opinion" or "I respect your choices" but that doesn't mean I necessarily like it or accept it. It just means I honor your right to speak your opinion or act your choices freely. This is what I would call "polite respect". You let the other be even if you don't like it, or them. In my view something necessary to smoother social relations.

Re: Short, and some longer, Thoughts
Political Correctness is a mental disease. It is weaponised love and kindness. What should be natural discernment and discrimination has been subverted and inverted to serve an 'anything should be accepted in the name of non-offensiveness' agenda designed to undermine necessary moral and ethical discernment and discrimination which is important for a reasonable advancing civilisation to thrive. Some things are just wrong, no matter what, and should not be accepted or promoted. PC promotes those things.

Political Correctness forces compliance to what is wrong, under a guise of what is supposedly right, but under penalty, and that is nothing more than tyranny. A tyranny of extreme emotional and mental manipulation and badgering which eventually leads to a state of extreme, unreasonable self-imposed destructive politeness and a total fear for and of offense. The 'Snowflake' condition.

For a society to survive in the long term you can't have that and ungodly things must be rejected. PC is one of those, and with great prejudice too.

Offense

It is impossible to be non-offensive. Someone, somewhere will always be offended by anything you say or do. Do not spend your time and effort in pleasing people but rather in doing what is right, just and fair.

Even in all these efforts there will still be offended ones. Ignore them for, if you did the right thing, their offense is not your concern.

The only person that can't be offended is a dead one.

Re: Short, and some longer, Thoughts
In order to grow we need to be challenged. Having a dream and chasing that dream provides the challenge. You gain experience, knowledge and wisdom in the process which in the end makes you better than when you started out.

It's like that other saying: "It's not about the destination but the journey". When you achieve one goal, one dream, there will be another because always will you want to challenge yourself to become better than what you are now. Never are we truly satisfied. Chasing dreams and goals and getting better and wiser is what an eternal soul does. Always does it want the challenge. The opportunity to grow. Otherwise it would just be stagnation and boredom and that is just death.

Thinkers and Do-ers

An often used expression :"There are thinkers and there are do-ers. Which one are you?". The question implies a choice of being one or the other without needing the other. False reasoning. Thinkers need do-ers to manifest their thoughts into more solid creation and do-ers need thinkers to originate the thoughts that must be done. Always are a designer and a builder needed for without either nothing can exist as the thinker does not always have the skill of the do-er and the do-er cannot always think like the thinker.

Few people have both skills in one. An architect can design a building from the ground up but wouldn't necessarily have the electrification, plumbing, dry walling, carpentry, brick laying and other skills it takes to physically complete the building. Just like the builder couldn't envision like the architect.

The thinker can become the do-er by learning all the individual skills themself and doing the job themself but it would also be less efficient and take extra long to complete. Thinkers and do-ers working together in different areas at once can complete the job much quicker and more efficiently when everyone can just concentrate on their little segment. Together much bigger things are then accomplished than alone.

It all comes back to we always need each other. No matter how independant and versatile you may want to be there always comes a time help is needed.

True ignorance and false ignorance

True ignorance is just a lack of truthful knowledge. False ignorance is the availability of truthful knowledge but the choice to ignore it.

On Merit

What you deserve is what you've earned. Getting something on merit means you've put your everything into it and have earned your reward. Being on merit is being the best you can be, bringing the best you have. Getting on merit qualifies you to be where you are and nothing and nobody can take that away from you. Nothing and nobody has that right.

Even if your'e not chosen in the moment, even if you seem to be overlooked because another of more merit is ahead of you, you still deserve to be there because of your effort, your perseverance and your heart.

Never get discouraged by unfairness either if someone of less merit seems to get ahead, seems to get it all. It will return upon them as those of less merit can't handle what those of more merit can. Life has a way of balancing the unfairness out.

Just know that if you've given your best but don't quite reach that top this time its not your fault. Know and remember that you've earned your merit badge, your pride and reward, and keep your head high. You deserve it!

Something special I received.

Dappled

Your existence is dappled, like sun through a forest canopy. There is a light spot. Some steps away a dark spot. There is a shadowy hole, ominous and uninviting and just a little ways away a sunny spot with daffodils, butterflies and beaming foxgloves.

This is your journey through the forest of your life, of your world, but know now that soon you'll be breaking through into a vast meadow. A place filled with light and clear vision and everything beautiful. You'll roll in the grass, you'll play like little children...for a little while...then you'll decide you want to stay here...and you'll begin to build. First just one little cabin, then someone will come along and build another...and another...and another...and before you know a community will have spouted before your very eyes.

Everyone will be friend. Everyone will be family. You will know the joys of real Life and Light and you will learn how it is supposed to be. Blessing will follow you all the days of your life and although you may set foot in the dappled wood now and again you will never be lost or afraid again because your home will be in the middle and all ways will you know how to turn. Blessings and Love to you and keep on walking to that meadow. Just a short time beloveds, just a short time.
