Subject Duracell Batteries now LEAK like a Sieve
Poster Handle Midwest Skeptic
Post Content
I always paid the extra money to buy Duracell batteries because you could put them in a device and they would NEVER LEAK unlike the cheaper alkelines.

NOW everything I have Duracells in has a leaky battery and all sorts of that corrosion that occurs when a battery leaks. Duracells are now actually WORSE than the cheapest of the cheapies when it come to LEAK ISSUES.

Forget their "use by" date ... they will now start leading just a couple of years into being placed into a device, many many years before that "use by" date printed on the battery.

I have no idea where they are made anymore ... but it definitely is NOT at the plant(s) that used to make them with the same quality materials that they used to be made with.

Whatever you do ... do NOT leave any duracell batteries inside any occasional use device such as flashlights or radios for emergency use. When you go to use them in the next power failure in a year or so you will find that they do NOT work ... AND they have leaked their chemicals all over the insides of your device.
